Playgirl's 2006 New Year's Eve Resolution

I went to my favorite little chapel at 6 AM this
morning. The only people there, aside from me,
were this little old lady and an elderly couple.

Sadly, I rarely go to church and only when I'm in dire need of spiritual help. Just as hospitals are for the sick, so are churches for sinners. I had to go, because I become frightened of the upcoming New Year. I went into deep prayer for the world. I prayed for all those in my personal life, and I prayed for all of my Live Journal friends.

We're ALL hurting in one way or another, and we're ALL fearful of the future, which we have no control of. I prayed that our government is filled with wisdom to lead this country towards PEACE. I prayed for our soldiers and their families. I prayed for all those who are without jobs, for the sick, for all those who have nobody. I prayed for the hungry. I prayed for the weak. I prayed for the children and the orphans, and for the elderly who have nobody and are in nursing homes all alone. I prayed for the homeless and I prayed for our inmates in prison who have no hope.

New Year's Eve is the scariest and saddest time of the year for me because I fear the unknown. What will this New Year bring? All I know is, that my prayers are, that finally, this world becomes just a little more compassionate for those who are in need and in such pain!

On another note, my New Year's resolutions are to modify my ways.

I'm going to try to do more than I have been doing for animals.
To give Mother Earth a little break, I'm going to recycle everything.

I go once a year to San Antonio to visit inmates at the Kenedy Penitentiary. I have been paying for one DAILY subscription to the El Paso Times newspaper to be sent to the inmates over there. I will now add a couple of books per year to the list. This coming year I will add another penitentiary to my agenda and that will be to one in Mexico. I will see which one I choose so the inmates can put me on their visitation list.

I resolve to visit the elderly in nursing homes, at least every other month.

I resolve to post entries with just a touch of NAUGHTINESS in my Live Journal. HEH HEH

I'm going to TRY to become LESS anti-social.

AND I have already started to change my ways! I've accepted to go on a date with this guy who invited me a couple of weeks ago to a New Year's Eve party at his friend's house! There will be catered Mexican food, and there will be (OH MY GOD!) MARIACHI'S, and fixen's for my MARGARITA'S!!! YAY!

I plan on wearing this shirt that one of
my brothers gave me for Christmas. By and by,

Now, what I'd like to know (can't make up my mind),
should I wear these on my feet tonight?

Should I wear these sandals?
(Both were purchased at the 2nd hand shop)

Definately the sandals! You have nice feet, so why not show them off?

Enjoy yourself tonight!

Ok, I'll start taking votes!
You've voted for the sandals - check mark!

I love Mariachi's and Mexican food and of course my MARGARITAS!

Thank you my friend, and tomorrow I'll share who the party went!

Hugs Sweety Pie!

Is that chapel in Mexico?
Dec. 31st, 2005 09:00 pm (UTC)
No. San Juan Bautista Catholic Church is in El Paso. I've been to a few in Cd. Juarez, Mexico and will make note to visit again and take pictures to post here.

Although, I'm supposed to go to one on the west side, I prefer to go to this one because it's among the few OLD missions left, and Father Michael leaves me in awe, because I've never seen such faith and devotion from a priest, as I've found in him.

Bah! I vote for the crazy slippers! But then I love crazy things and the people who do them.
Dec. 31st, 2005 09:39 pm (UTC)
They are crazy, aren't they?!

So far, there are 4 votes for the sandals and 2 for the crazy house shoes!

I believe I've just come up with a clever solution. Being the clever and just as crazy a gal as I am, I'm sure you've already guessed what I'm going to do! heh heh

I'll take pics tonight!

Those are all pretty darn great resolutions.

I like the crucifix in the chapel. I kinda have a thing for religious art.
Dec. 31st, 2005 09:16 pm (UTC)
I'll try to find out exactly how old this mission is.

I'm pretty sure the crucifix, along with all the other saint statues are ancient. I'll also try, sometime in the future, to visit some missions in Cd. Juarez and take pics of the crosses they have there for you!

I vote for the sandals. Show off your sexy feet.
Dec. 31st, 2005 09:19 pm (UTC)
Now, this makes four votes for Sandals!

Thanks for complimenting my feet! They are kinda cute, huh? *grin*

I am so glad that you are going on a date. You need to do things just for you from time to time. You live to much of your life in the service of others. Animals will continue to be born and die, prisoners will continue to go to jail and be released, Your live journal friends will continue posting and reading. This will happen no matter what it is you do. So as much as you have the need to live in the service of your fellow beings you should live in the service of self. What I so enjoy is what makes you who you are. You need to take the time for yourself to protect and strenghten that part of you. You are in my prayers as always.
Dec. 31st, 2005 11:20 pm (UTC)
I don't believe "that part" of me can ever be protected or strenghtened.

The *Monster* won't permit it.

I believe you have a 6th sense.

I love you my friend! I truly do!

Sandals. :)
Jan. 1st, 2006 05:14 pm (UTC)
I ended up wearing the sandals.
Dec. 31st, 2005 09:17 pm (UTC)
Both the chapel and your feet are lovely! Thanks for sharing.

In spite of that, I ADORE those slippers! So humorous! I vote slippers. (Why not start the New Year off in comfort?)

Have fun on the date!

Re: Oh!
Thank you!

Yes, those slippers bring oodles of giggles to those who see them!

Regretfully, I wore the sandals, and my toes were FREEZING!

I wish you and yours, a VERY BEST BRAND NEW YEAR, my darling friend!

If only those who have never own a pet, would take the chance to pick one up from the Humane Society, and find what true love is!

I own 10 dogs, 7 cats, a hedgehog, a turtle and a rabbit! There is no way in hell, I can ever experience loneliness. I am so loved by all of these little angels! YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN, when I say UNCONDITIONAL love, 'cause you've got 4 legged babies, too!

My furry kids with 4 legs, Mickey and Jewely are the greatest love of my life and they have no idea that I'm not their natural mother!

I vote for the sandals & am wishing you
a great time. If you can't keep track of
how many margarita's you've had, you probably
have had enough.
"Happy New Year" :-)
Jan. 1st, 2006 05:51 pm (UTC)
I followed your advice and kept vigil track of the Margarita's I drank, but I didn't do the same with the Chili Rellenos! They were delicious!

Wishing you and yours all the happiness in the world!

You got me meditating deeply on this question that you asked:

*what is your friends policy?? I can't figure it out!! I have no idea why you added me, but I am very glad that you did :)*

I will soon post an entry on the topic and will try to answer your question, as well as all my other LJ Friends!

Oh, how I love the color red! If it were possible, I'd grab a paint brush and paint my whole body red!

I want to wish you, my beautiful, sexy friend, all the happiness in the world for this New Year, and all the New Year's to come!
Lots of hugs and lots of smooches on your cheeks, Sweety Pie!
