Sgt. Shamar Thomas - Another person added to my heroes list.

It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither pics my pocket nor breaks my leg.
- Thomas Jefferson
"A Bill for Establishing Religious Freedom" 1779

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian, or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.

"I do not mean by this declaration to condemn those who believe otherwise; they have the same right to their belief as I have to mine. But it is necessary to the happiness of man, that he be mentally faithful to himself. Infidelity does not consist in believing, or in disbelieving; it consists in professing to believe what he does not believe."
- Thomas Paine

I have so many different things on my mind. First of all, I want you to take me deadly serious, because whatever thoughts I express here, I mean them from the blood, gut and soul of my being. In my last post, I stated that I wanted to do my little part in helping those who have the balls to go out and demonstrate against the injustices the fat cats have committed, and continue to commit on the diminishing middle class. When I said this, I had no idea if I would be able to or not, and as it turned out to be, I was able to fly to Los Angels, California to the demonstrators there. I'll slowly post pictures I took.

I have posted a picture of a man by the name of Sgt. Shamar Thomas, who said it so well, "this is not a war zone." When I watched the video, I felt goose bumps throughout my body, because of this brave mans words to those cops. What those cops who are fighting against demonstrators don't realize that the demonstration aren't only for themselves, but for them, also. Police, firefighters, teachers, just to mention a few, have lost their jobs. I just can't understand how a few of these cops can be so brutal to people who are demonstrating in a peaceful manner for what they believe.

I've also been watching the Republicans running for President use religion, only to gain popularity. Frankly, they scare me to death, because I believe they are the ones who spread so much discord among us all. Religion has no place in politics. I believe in God with all my heart and soul, but that is my own personal belief, and I never try to shove my Catholic religion down anyone’s throat. I don't believe in many of the Catholic teachings, but that doesn't really matter, does it? And if it does, it matters only to me. It doesn't matter who believes whatever to me. The only thing that matters is that they are kind, compassionate people. Leave religion out of politics. I don't care if Mitt Romney is Mormon; the only thing I care about is if he'd make a good President. Of course I don't, and would never vote for him; not because he's Mormon, but because he's a flip flopper, and believe he'd make a terrible president.

When Perry and most of the Republicans running for president constantly use Christianity for their personal gain, I can't help but recall these words from the Holy Bible:

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you ... in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
- Matthew 7:15

I have a feeling the devil is using religious fanatics to sew hatred and divide people for his own ends.

I agree with what you are saying on religion. I made my own decision on what I believe and have a very hard time with the abuse of faith as a political tool. I could care less if Romney is Mormon, Jewish, Muslim or Bahaii. It's not relevant and frankly anyone who pushes towards a candidate having to make some kind of religious statement of faith in the whole debate is riunning contrary to something in the constitution. Article 6, Paragraph 3 : The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

I think someone needs to remind Perry and Bachmann of this.

It's all moot. They're crucifying the only guy who could , in reality, beat the President (and I think it's remote) in the 2012 election. Bottom line, if you want to beat the president you need to lay off the whacky issues :creationism, young earth crap, the birth certificate stupidity, 9-9-9 plan, etc. Talk about jobs not about companies nor billionaires in the boardrooms rewarding CEOs with bad annual financial report cards.
I mean, there is a load of cognitive dissonance when you hear these debates go on and on about smaller government and non-interference yet they want to shove religious views disguised as science into school rooms or want to amend the constitution to makes rules on marriage. That sounds like bigger government to me.

Can I say, "I told you so," when it comes to Obama or are you still an Obama fan?

(Not trying to rub your nose in it; just curious to know what you think about him now.)

Not sure who you are addressing this to, but for me it's more of pragmatic choice. The frontrunners in the GOP haven't even addressed the issues that are prime on the voters wants or needs. You've got Romney and other who fight for the constitutional rights of corporate entities as if they were individuals yet the gallup poll supports holding those entities to task and are opening up their eyes to the excessive amounts spent on corporate welfare (look at GE's tax refunds). It's not even anti-capitalist stance because under Teddy Roosevelt and the "gilded age" progressives the idea was not socialism but curbing excesses and putting checks in place because excessive money is what feeds the corrupt political machine more than anything and when they scratch each others backs your government doesn't belong to you anymore neither does your country it belongs to Wall Street.
The only time these guys go to jail is if they cheat ina way that hurts a competitor but when the structure is in place that cheats taxpayers out of money through bailouts these guys get rewarded with bonuses: 18.4 billion to Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs. You know instead of rewarding themselves how about they give that money to the taxpayer in the form of interest or congratulating US for bailing them out?
Do *I* love Obama? I'm not sure that I do, but the biggest disappointment is in his compromising in the wrong way with the GOP so my only other realistic option is to vote GOp and then they definitely just rubberstamp whatever is put in front of them. I'll vote for him again in hopes a lame duck strategy will be different than the last 4 years.

It was to PG. But, I'm glad to have gotten your response as well.

I've been seeing that kind of apathetic response from the majority of people.

The system has failed. I'm curious to see what people are going to do next.

Do you really think it matters who wins at this point?

The choice between a man who makes terrible decisions and a group of people who are trying to out-crazy each other. I'll go with the former, but begrudgingly.

God and You both know I love you but...
Sometimes I don't know when you are serious or just trying to make fools of us all.

There are things called LAWS and those laws are what separates the US and the Islamic world that so chooses to push Islamic law where YOU would not be allowed to do or say a tenth of what you do. Because of your outspoken ways some rag-head would probably have already tried to bathe you in acid or tried to shut you up ion some other way.

These jackasses who are involved in these "Occupy" groups in many instances are involved in acts that are not lawful. RAPE, Drugs, Tresspassing just to name a few.

Question, If I were to wear half of my uniform in a very disrespectful way, with all my ribbons on it and stand in front of the police and scream for them to move in and clean up the human trash that was blocking the streets and preventing me from going about my business in a lawful manner, Would you say I was one of your new hero's?

In one post you say you wish you could know the Bible from cover to cover, and in the next you are sympathetic to anti-christian movements. You announce that you love your right to own a gun, but you display the Move-on.org link, a group founded by Hillary Clinton and George Soros to advance the Socialist Liberal movement in America. One of their biggest agenda's is the obliteration of citizen owned guns. They know that an armed populace is the best defense against any possibility of an overthrow of our Republic.

In any event, my prayers for you continue, and hopefully one day you will see the truth. It is out there, and its NOT owned by any political party.
