Update on Jerry - PAGE FIVE

I'll continue with the Peru pictures tomorrow.

This is how Jerry's eye looks now after the ophthalmology specialist from Albuquerque, N.M. performed the operation. I'm extremely satisfied with the out come, and it couldn't have been done without that wonderful veterinary specialist.

Jerry can see very little out of that eye, but at least he can see something, and it doesn't look as awful as the eye looked in the first pic. He still has a bit of a cloudy smudge around his pupil and extends partly to the iris.

Playgirl's Animal Farm: I’ll eventually continue creating HAPPY picture pages of the rest of my oodles and oodles of 4-legged kids!

Do dogs get cataracts or is that just the way the camera took the picture? He does look much better in the after picture; He looks so miserable in the before picure.

Dogs do get cataracts when they get old, but in Jerry's case (he's still pretty young), neither my regular vet, nor the specialist knew what caused his eye to go so bad.

My regular vet sewed the bottom lid to the very top of his inside of his upper lid. It didn't work, so she recommended an eye specialist.

It was a horrible and long process for Jerry to get to this point (around two months). I still have to wash he eye everyday, and put some special drops in his eye. He was miserable when he had to wear a big plastic cone around his neck. Poor baby!

Washing the eye and adding special drops makes me think of pink eye for humans.

What a nasty experience that was...
I had pink eye once, and whenever I see someone with just a touch of pink in their eye, I run like hell!

It is amazing! Too bad we humans haven't learned their secret!

Yes, I believe in taking good care of my pets, just as I know you do, too!

Love you Sweet-Pie!

I'm glad Jerry is doing better.

I know he's your kitty, I named him after you, remember? :o)

Me, too. All the time, and money I put into him was well worth it!

You're my hero, S. I wish more people helped out animals in need. The world would be a better place

Thank you, S. You are my hero in more ways than you can imagine.

I also wish many more people realized they have the same feelings as we humans do. A lot of people believe they are just like rocks who have no feelings.

I still have many more animals that I'll be posting pics of so you can smile.

Jerry is amazing.

But all the animals are!
