Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona
1. I never thought for a moment that someday I would be adding Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona to my heroes list, but after watching Lock Up on TV, and finding out that the owners of abused cats, dogs, horses, etc. are being prosecuted I instantly grew to love this man. Arpaio has made a No-Kill beautiful, safe haven for these abused animals in one of the oldest air conditioned jails where the cats and dogs are cared for by the female inmates, and the bigger animals by the male inmates.
Arpaio said something to the effect that those poor abused animals spend more time behind bars than those who abused them. I hope this man will be able to change the laws to where those who abuse animals will be given severe punishments, instead of a mere slap on the wrist!
Sheriff Arpaio has seriously touched my heart, and early this morning I called Phoenix, Arizona to get the exact address of M.A.S.H. so I can start sending a monthly check whenever possible for $10.00 for his wonderful cause.

2. My brother, his wife and kids arrived from San Antonio, Texas on Friday, and left yesterday morning. I’m surprised that I was able to bury the hatchet with my sister-in-law. We all had a really nice time. I thank God I never told my brother about her cheating on him through email while he was in Iraq!!
I love tooting my horn as the Queen of Hot in the Kitchen. This 1st pic is of a homemade pizza I made a while ago. Here you will find step by step pictures of the one I made this week-end.
Knead flower and yeast, let rise, roll out.
Bake in oven until it is a very light golden brown.
Large Italian sausage links fried and finely crumbled.
Sautéed in olive oil: mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and green, red, yellow peppers. Spread over pizza along with pepperoni. Other toppings I've used are jalapenos, black olives, bacon, pineapple, sliced fresh tomatoes.
Someday I'll give you the recipe for the pizza sauce.
