1. About my prior post about having problems connecting to LJ.

The problem got worse, because not only could I not get into LJ, but also into the web. A little warning popped up saying this:

Warning! Your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presence. your system requires immediate ant viruses check. system security will erform a quick and free scanning of your pc for viruses and malicious programs.

I called a company who has doctors who do house calls, and he made my computer healthy again! :o)

2. QUESTION 4 YOU: If you could be the author of any one quotation from history, what words would you like to have uttered?

The quote I'd choose would be this one, since I'm emphatically against the death penalty:

"From this day forward, I no longer shall tinker
with the machinery of death... I feel morally and intellectually
obligated simply to concede that the death penalty
experiment has failed. It is virtually self-evident to me now
that no combination of procedural rules or substantive
regulations ever can save the death penalty from its
inherent constitutional deficiencies."

My problem with the death penalty isn’t that its unconstitutional. Capital punishment existed at the time the Constitution was drafted. My problem is the fact that people embellish, or even lie, to make a point or achieve a goal and knowing this I can not in good conscience condone what may the death of an innoucent.

On the other hand I have no problem with solitary confinement for our worst criminals.

One too many innocent people, is one too many of the innocent to have died at the hands of the death penalty. And there have been many, many more than one.

Solitary confinement is a far worse a punishment than death.

Thank you.

Go Placidly among the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with others....
