First of all, I started getting very sick late Tuesday night. I never got out of sofa until yesterday morning. I had a horrible sore throat which also made my feel like it was covered in sand, which produced a cough that was pretty violent. I also had a fever so high that caused me to hallucinate. I didn't eat or drink water until yesterday morning, because I started feeling a little better. When I looked in the mirror, I saw a stranger’s face that didn't have an ounce of blood, and the hair looked as if someone had sprayed it with oil and water. I stank horribly, also. I'm still pretty weak, but am quickly regaining my health again. I was so sick, that I had no idea Ted Kennedy had passed away until yesterday morning. Since then, I've been watching everything about the Kennedy's on TV. My heart goes out to all the Kennedy's for the loss of such a wonderful man.
For a while there, I honestly thought I had somehow caught the Swine Flu.
Most of you have seen the little Retirement Fund jar I bought at the 2nd hand store for about 50 cents. As you can see, I managed to start off with this amount towards the day I will retire.
I'm happy to show you how much more I've managed to add to my little nest egg since then. At this rate, by the time retirement day comes, I'll seriously be living high off the hog!
I had seen this safe a few years ago, and liked it so much back then, that I even took a pic of it. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I'd someday be the owner of this monstrosity that I consider a treasure.
INFORMATION ON SAFE:
The Howe Scale Co
When I took off the steel sheet from the door, I found it was covered with something black, and something white that looked like a sheet of concrete or maybe plaster of paris, and the number 28 written in black paint
The inside: Wood interior shelves with antique carpet flooring
The size: 27 feet wide, 32 feet high from wheels to top, 26 from front to back
I was told by the towers that it could very possibly weigh at least 1 ton, if not more.
The man that sold it to me said it belonged to his father who died at age 92, and when his father bought it was already pretty old.
I've posted many tiny pics. All you have to do is click right next to the thumbnail where it says CLICK HERE where it will take you to the large version of each picture.
