That's right. Pay attention to the pissant amount of money paid to employee's for doing their fucking job.

Ignore Obama fucking our soldiers. Who cares if soldiers have to pay for their own health care to cover wounds received while doing their duty to our country.

The resort trip is BS, it was a reward for those folks who, you know, SOLD and MADE A PROFIT. Not the same business unit that lost their ass. This Marxist bitch doesn't care.

The "BONUSES" are in lieu of pay, not performance based. This dumb bitch wouldn't work for free. Neither would you.

Several things:

  1. Most of the employees receiving the "bonuses" are the ones responsible for the plight of the company. Some of those bonuses were "retention bonuses" and were paid to people who had already left the firm.
  2. $160 million is not a puissant amount, especially spread across so few people. In fact, it is just under one third the $540 million stated in the article you linked that Obama hopes to save which is spread over a much greater number of people.
  3. While you are right to be outraged by what is being suggested in the article, the two items are not logically connected.
  4. Regardless of who the resort trip was for, the company had no place paying for it because the company as a whole required government assistance to survive.
  5. A bonus is "Money paid in addition to a stated compensation." If the "bonus" is stated contractually as part of the person's compensation and is not connected to any measure of success or effort, how is it "in addition to stated compensation"?

2. Yeah it is. For a government that spends $5 BILLION on Acorn, paying people who worked at AIG is pocket change.

3. No, they aren't connected. That's my point. Everyone is being led around by the nose concerning the bonuses that the Feds knew about for months. It's not news, it's a distraction.

4. Yes they do have the right to do so. If you have sales monkey's who have made your company shit tons of money, and part of their compensation agreement was a resort trip, you need to do the resort trip. This isn't rocket surgery.

5. Why is it people are so dishonest as to only pay attention to one definition?
bonus - 2. a sum of money granted or given to an employee, a returned soldier, etc., in addition to regular pay, usually in appreciation for work done, length of service, accumulated favors, etc.

Of course bonuses are in lieu of performance.

Because of their disgraceful greed, they found they had to literally beg like the dogs that they are for billions of dollars. Bonuses are given to people when they've gone beyond the call of duty in making the company succeed. These people failed miserably, therefore, they never should have gotten a bonus. What's more, they should have been fired.

I could care less how, or on what these miserable ogres spend their money on, but I do care very much when it's yours, mine, and every other American's money for which we work so hard for.
