Just some thoughts about whatever

I continue to post from my 2nd computer. I did everything possible to fix my main one; the one that contains the living heart and soul of everything I’ve done; the one which contains all my 7 or 8 domains, and the one (the romantic domain) that has all the stuff I’ve been working on 7 days a week, sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning for the past 8 or 9 months. I failed miserably. I finally called a company and the guy tried to fix it but failed, also. He says it has that Spy shit, and over 38 viruses; one is the Trojan virus! He had to take my baby to see what else he could do. He says he’ll bring it back to me tomorrow late in the evening. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I just can’t get enough of Obama and his family. I’ve been watching his biography on MSNBC since Saturday. I think I’ve become obsessed with him and Michelle, but I don’t think I’m the only one. :o)

As much as I love him, I’m glad I won’t be going to Washington D.C. until March or April. I would have gone to see him now, but I would never be able to handle all the screaming by his adoring fans, besides, big crowds make me feel claustrophobic! I even feel claustrophobic when the person standing behind me at the grocery checkout stand stands so close to me, I can feel and smell his/her nasty breath. Why don’t these people give you your space, and why are some people so loud, and why do they scream? This really upsets me, especially when I’m around people who get all excited and LOUD! Why can’t they just express their excitement with a great big smile, and in a softer manner?

My brother who went back to California told me today that he’s already sold his washer and dryer, and will be selling everything else he owns. I told him to sell them for as much as possible, but he said that he couldn’t, because everybody is selling their stuff, also. He says that more and more shops have For Lease signs, because those who were there, lost everything, due to our nasty economy. I think things are going to get more horrible than we can imagine. Crime will be rampant. I’ve never really cared for cops, but I pray NONE of them will be laid off; I feel the same for our Border Patrol. I never thought I’d be saying this, since I was one of the many who was so against it, but I’m glad the Border Fence is being built. It runs for endless miles. I took pictures of it, and wanted to share them with you, and hopefully I will, if my computer is saved!!

I continue to tell you kids to save as many of your pennies as you can. Come to think of it, will pennies be worth pennies?

I’ve already taken 2 more trips to Juarez, Mexico, and have some wonderful pictures I took there. The MATACHINES in action, and some beautiful monuments. The very last time I went there, I took pictures of Pancho Villas actual death mask, and some beautiful art. I also have one picture of some soldier. They aren’t too good, because I took them quickly for fear of them catching me doing it. All these pictures are in my other computer. Is it possible they have all been lost forever?

I was shocked when I went to Juarez this last time. The streets are almost bare. People are afraid, and by 8 P.M., you won’t see a soul. Even the schools have been closed sooner than usual, because they too, have been attacked by those selling protection.

I KNOW that eventually, all that stuff will come to this city, and then to yours. I can feel it in my FREEZING bones.

It's been such a long time since I've driven out into the desert; gotten off my car to run as fast as possible; screaming at the top of my lungs. I must do it again tomorrow. No! I won't do it tomorrow because tomorrow is Obamas Inaguration, and I wouldn't miss that for the world! I'll run and scream the day after tomorrow.

It is funny you say that. A possible collapse of the Mexican government has been listed as a foreign policy problem for Obama. Mexico has about the same chance of falling into chaos as Pakistan, according to the foreign security assessment.

On a related note about the police, see my latest entry.

Oh, and it was not that long ago that the metal in pennies was worth a nickle. It was so bad that a law banning the mass export of coins was introduced. I don't know if it passed.

What I fear
So many people are treated Obama as a saint. He is just a politician like the rest of them. He has better PR, and he has a slightly different background. This does not make him a saint. He has no magical powers that are going to fix things. I hope those who have elevated beyond human can withstand it if he does not answer their prayers. I see this economy as going to get worse. There is very little they can do in DC to fix this. When it gets worse I hope the fans don't turn on the man. It takes a long time to recover. I am just hunkering down myself. I hope to survive this recession/depression on my own. I am not going to owe anyone. The one thing that will doom us is if the dollar devalues like it has in Zimbabwe most recently. IF that goes crazy, the world is turning crazy.

Re: What I fear
It really isn't that we consider Obama a saint; it's just that he has given us hope. Those of us who voted for him, and who love him so much, realize he is only human, but he truly wants to do the very best he can to save this country. I might be impossible, since he isn't a saint. It took 8 years for our situation to become as dire as it is now. Let's all stand behind him, because if he should fail, we're ALL doomed.

Yes Sweet Pie, the world is going crazy, and I selfishly ask myself why now, when I’ve only begun!!

Re: What I fear
I voted for him too, as I do see a glimmer of hope. The cynical and usually correct side of me knows he made deals to get where is now. I just hope that he can do half of what people think he can. I don't want him to go down the partisan path like Bush did. Leave abortion, guns, gay marriage, and faith initiatives all on the back burner. We have to have a thriving economy. The rest we can bicker about when we all have food, when we all have a place to rest. If he goes as far left as Bush went far right, things are going to spiral out of control. We need a centrist right now. That is what I think he is. Lets get some things working before he pays off those who backed him.

Re: Response to the Economy

I seriously doubt that the government's response to the current economical crisis will be any different than what has occured throughout history: an attack on individual liberties.

In A.D. 301, Roman emperor Diocletian engaged in an accelerating debasement of Roman coinage and rising inflation. In doing so, he decimated Roman liberties, decreeing maximum prices for over a thousand products from beef to beer to wages, and forbidding merchants to export them to markets where they could get higher prices.

After the French Revolution, the French Assembly attempted to revive the economy by ever-increasing issues of assignants (Treasury Bonds), then as the newly printed currency lost value, the politicians passed increasinly draconian punishments, including death, for those who tried to avoid the depreciation.

In 1920-1923, as the Reichsmark inflation gripped Germany, the German government passed ever-more severe restrictions on the freedoms of German citizens, including price controls, trade restrictions and prohibitions on foreign exchange.

And for a US example:

Executive Order 6102 was passed. It's an Executive Order signed on April 5, 1933 by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt "forbidding the Hoarding of Gold Coin, Gold Bullion, and Gold Certificates." It required all persons to deliver on or before May 1, 1933 all gold coin, gold bullion, and gold certificates owned by them to the Federal Reserve. Under the Trading With the Enemy Act of October 6, 1917, as amended on March 9, 1933, violation of Executive Order 6102 was punishable by fine up to $10,000 ($166,640 if adjusted for inflation as of 2008) or up to ten years in prison, or both. Because of this forced immediate sale of gold to the Federal Reserve at the government set price of $20.67 per troy ounce, this Executive Order is often referred to as the Gold Confiscation of 1933. Shortly after this forced sale, the price of gold from the treasury for international transactions was raised to $35 an ounce; the U.S. government thereby devalued the U.S. dollar by 41%

Today, people use offshore banking in order to diversify their wealth. I foresee Barack Obama and Co. cracking down on individuals looking to diversify globally in order to escape the depreciation. Obama & Co. will attack these investors with claims of tax evasion. I foresee it becoming more-and-more difficult for investors to transfer US Dollars between US banks and foreign banks. I foresee laws and regulations being passed under the guise of creating a "Free Market," but that catch will be that specialized brokerage firms will be required so that the government can secretly spy on your transactions whether domestic or internaitonal. "It'll help fight terrorism," will be another selling point in passing these laws and regulations to control one's global diversification.

I'm sure I'm only scratching the tip of the iceburg here, but that's what I fear.

Sorry to hear about your pc. Had I known, I would've suggested a long time ago that you have seperate pcs for hosting and for researching. And one for backing up files.

Some people might think that's overkill, but the simple fact of the matter is that no matter how much protection you have and security measures you take, your pc is never safe. Backing up files can at least help save the majority of your work.

Everything is okay now
I had backed up everything, but the problem was that the last time I did that, was around October of last year. The reason I was so scared was, because for the past 3 months, I've created about 500 pages, along with graphics.

I have a 2nd computer, but I'm afraid to pick up some virus on that one, too. I'm looking into buying a 3rd CHEAP one to surf with.

I hearts you Dave!

I'm always happy when I see you here. Sorry about your computer, hope some of your stuff can be salvaged. Hugs.

As you always make my day when I see you! Seriously!

Everything was saved. Thank God!

You go to Juarez?

Brave woman, you are!

I do, and I'm going again next week. Not for photography, but out of necessity.
