1. Looks like Sarah Palin is getting some of her own (by the Republicans) wicked medicine now, after she played filthy politics by making so many dangerous, outrageous insinuations about Obama. The woman is now complaining about all the false allegations against her. Didn’t she herself make MANY false allegations against Obama? McCain played the same nauseating politics, also.

I hope the Republican’s learn from this, and run a cleaner campaign. We the people grew disgusted by all the ugly rants and rave that Palin and McCain made this year. Rarely did they speak of the important issues that concerned Americans, such as the economy for one, because they were too busy trying to find dirt on Obama.

I also blame some of the people at Fox, who fought as dirty as could be against Barrack and Michele Obama, especially Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly.

I stopped watching Fox some months ago, because I was literally becoming ill by the horrors Hannity, and others were spewing. I now watch MSNBC. What a refreshing difference!

I am so very happy Barrack Obama is now our President elect. Finally there’s hope for all of us, and finally, most of the world is now starting to feel the respect for this beloved country it had.

2. It is 1:36 PM. The phone rang. It said PRIVATE. I hardly ever answer UNKNOWN, or PRIVATE calls, but I did this time since I have too many different unpleasant things going on in my life right now. The caller was my stalker since we were in high school. SHE sounded all melodramatic, and out of breath, with great concern in her voice about me. “Savanah, thank God!! I FINALLY got you!! I’ve been so worried about” … I HUNG UP ON THE NUT! It’s been years now, and I’ll be damned if I can get rid of her. SHE is straight, and I have no earthly idea why she feels this love and hate thing for me! She just won’t leave me alone, and this is not the time for me to have answered a PRIVATE call.

It is 1:47 PM. The phone is ringing and it says again PRIVATE caller. I’ll never answer calls from PRIVATE callers again. I know I could have reported her a long time ago, but I won’t, because she is seriously a NUT case. Thank God she lives in Las Vegas.

3. I’m just talking to myself here.

I’ve always believed that if you have health, you can conquer the world. I’ve started hyperventilating again.

Too many on my Flist aren't having much to do with LJ. Little by little, I must start deleting again.

Don't kill me for not responding too heavily to the political posts. I tend to distance myself from anyone posting politics in regard to the recent election. The mere topic has overwhelmed my friends list, and I don't have anything nice to say about the clowns in office, running for it, or getting it. But I do try to maintain an ounce of civility or objectivity in rare moments concerning the topic. ;)

Obsessions are scary. Is good that she is so far away.

This is going to sound weird coming from me, but I don't think it's Sarah Palin's fault. I think McCain's staff is going to scapegoat her even though they were the ones that pushed her on McCain.

Also I don't want them to destroy her too much because i can't think of anyone else I'd love to see run in 2012 :)

I'm now being pragmatic and waiting to see if my choice will help us and I love that he indeed asked for everyone, even those who didn't pick him, to help him and this country.

Instead of trying to punish or make fun of the GOP we need to reject Karl Rove's plans of divide and conquer and truly love this country by making sure we act as if we don't have our political parties on our sleeves.

Obama said he ESPECIALLY will listen to those who don't agree with him. I believe him, because he did a lot of that when he was in the state legislature here in Illinois.

I see lots of Republicans that would be good choices for the cabinet. I don't think many people will disagree that Chuck Hagel would be a great champion of Veteran Affairs. Lugar knows foreign policy and military affairs as well. Gates is not a terrible choice to stay on as Sec. of Defense.

now to commence my bitching about how Obama isnt the commie Weatherman that McCain sold him to me as.

the way I see it, the Oligarchy that runs the one-party system posing as two is that they have "liberals" to get away with stuff that "conservatives" would cause an outrage by doing, and vice versa.

I am over the US election :-/

I have seen a lot of nastiness on both sides on my f-list and I am looking forward to that settling down!

I want to do a friends cut too.

Wait? Why are you hyperventilating?

I don't know about that Sarah Palin. I think it's a mashup of blame. Both she and Senator McCain were used and abused by the GOP power-makers, but Ms Palin has a lot to answer for. Her attacks were pretty horrible, icing on the malicious methods of the Republican machine. And the lack of control at the rallies. Just appalling.

Time will tell on Governor Palin's character and potential. I don't it will add up to much but I've been wrong before.

I've been busy working on crochet projects to sell, and also have been resting a lot. My legs are giving me grief...

As for that stalker, have you considered taking legal action?

Obama won the election and you're still going.

Most supporters have at least figured out the score. You? Not a chance.

Don't delete me!

I am so happy that our country has a better leader now.

Sorry to be a perv but I keep trying to see up your skirt in that photo ;)

Have look at these

"...RALEIGH — Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers’ personal retirement accounts — including 401(k)s and IRAs — and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration..."

Representatives of the Obama campaign have informed the authors that the campaign is not committed to the full 12.4 hike in the payroll tax. An increase in the payroll tax is merely one of many different tax increases that are being considered for those making over $250,000. The Obama campaign implies that the tax increase on those earning over $250,000 may not be limited to earnings but also cover different types of income. Despite questioning, the campaign has not provided any more details.

All this translates into the government controlling more and more of your life. If they feel you've made more than their magic number of total wealth. You'll be taxed because you are 'rich'. This includes things like selling personal property to raise cash. Since you sold a house recently, that means that was income and depending on where it lands you, will be taxed more.

You need love and good vibes right now and not people with problems bothering you.
I just hope the politics of paranoia is over with but i doubt it is, people who hate Obama because they belive the lies will not give him a chance and are afraid of change, these are sad sad people.

*many hugs*
Nov. 10th, 2008 08:13 pm (UTC)
I hope I don't get dumped.

Politics isn't my thing... at least it didn't seem that way until Obama came to our consciousness. In the past two years, I've probably read and/or watched as much as I could humanly take regarding the now-done presidential campaigns. I never really brought it up much with anyone, but I was interested nonetheless.

Fix Noise (that's what MSNBC's Keith Olbermann calls Fox News ;)) is certainly the network of the conservatives. I've watched them quote a bit in the past two years, too. For me, some of the worst s--t comes on whenever Hannity cavorts with Ann Coulter *gasp*. Now, I'm not hating all conservative intellectuals. There are some good ones, like David Brooks of the New York Times, Pat Buchanan, and Alex Castellanos (CNN). Brooks is especially great, as sometimes he gets away from writing about politics if he feels that it won't serve his beloved audience, and instead writes a human interest story for a day. That is a very admirable trait to me.

Palin's just digging a bigger hole in the ground for herself. Not only has she become bitter by attacking her handlers and the media... she's also been a fraud for the Alaskans. I'm not going to bother posting links about that, but clearly, to me, nearly everything about her political career, though promising, seems, well... shallow and superficial, for lack of better language.

I cannot believe you are still on this kick...

Its bad enough that Obama won because of treatchery, if it was NOT for ACORN and their crap he would npt have done it. There WAS NOT a great outpouring for him If you honestly look at the Numbers there was NOT a great majority of voters this time, and Obama just barely won with the popular vote.

AND if you would quit reading that treasonous crap from Moveon.com which is the biggest bunch of liars on the face of the earth. and you complain of FOX.

IF you had been listening to honest news broadcasts you would have learned that the trash that has been put out about Sarah Palin has been lies and even the crap from the RINO's about her is pure tripe as well.

You are gonna have a rude awakening when your messiah starts his bullshit. raises your taxes, makes it impossible for you to keep your other propertys, and forms his own Gestappo, you will see I was not lying. and get ready to give up your guns they are gone! Mine will be gone after I am dead.

Your precious Obama ghas already shown just how much of a thug he is by blabbing about his PRIVATE meeting with BUSH, If Bush had said something you would be crying foul about it and decrying him as a racist because he is not goosestepping in line behing the new Furer.

YOU are right thopugh I ghope the republicans do learn learn NOT to trust the leftist socialists and Marxist that have infestated much of the Democrat and Republican party. McCain was too much a liberal to ever win and many of us knew it. PALIN was the best thing that ever happened to the Race. and its proved the way that Moveon went after her like rabid dogs. they were scared to death.

Palin is a hope for the future! God knows we will need it! May God Protect our Republic!

Acorn is not responsible for voter fraud. They had a bunch of lazy workers who registered a lot of phony people and that was to get a paycheck. But, unless you think Tony Romo and Mickey Mouse actually showed up to vote, the Acorn thing is ridiculous. Also you must have not looked at the numbers Obama won the popular vote by a little less than 8 million votes. That's actually a big deal and not "barely" a win. And there's no way 8 million fake voters showed up. So he won fair and square, why can't you admit it?
You know that his percentage almost edged out Reagan's win against Carter in 1980 by 1 percent?

Also the same Republicans who were talking about socialism now changed their tune and said that liberals should not expect this win by Obama to be a mandate for the left because Obama was going lead from the center. The banks are now run by the government kind of late to be worrying about socialism now.

Obama won because the GOP is a one big failure that's been quarantined to the south now. They lost all their seats in the East and got rejected on the west coast and midwest. Look at what happened to Liddy Dole in N.C.
Are we reading the same news? Even Newt Gingrich explained why Obama won.
McCain's campaign was an utter disaster. How on earth can anyone seriously atribute Obama's win to anything other than the fact that McCain was a failure and people also were making an anti-Bush statement?
I honestly hope the GOP goe into 2012 the exact same way they did 2008 because this time Obama will really run away with it.

Oh yeah..and it was a mandate the GOP should rethink Sarah palin if they really want to win..or it will be Reagan -Mondale all over again.

Palin's negatives with general public were over 60% at election time. She has a favorability only with Republicans at 75% but Democrats outnumber GOP and Independents can't stand her by an even bigger margin.

If the GOP doesn't bring a serious candidate to the 2012 election Obama will win Montana, North Dakota and Arizona to add to his list of states in next election.

Oh and to cap this off nicely..I hope you had a Happy veteran's day.
I mean that.

Nov. 12th, 2008 11:58 pm (UTC)
Thank You very much for the Veteran's Day Wishes... I know our sweet one appreciates them as well.

Now :-) as for ACORN They have been in hot water in every state they have tried to operate. They have been forbidden to work in SC too many bogus situations
The head of ACORN has even said they were Liberal and would never work to sign up voters for the right.

The worst part of it though is that they are getting 4% of every mortgage in thye Unites States and I fopr one think that sucks royally. Let them support themselves or get private backing MOT off my back or out of my pocket! HELL if anything let them FOLD, if people dont care enough to get off their asses and go register, they dont deserve to vote! Just my 2 cents on them. As for the Republicans, It was the asshole republican tutrncoats that gave up even before the end of the voting and SARAH PALIN IS the bright future for the Conservatives, both Republican or Democrats.
Nov. 13th, 2008 03:57 pm (UTC)
I want you to look up a name. You might be familiar with Haley Barbour. He's the very popular Republican Governor of Mississippi. If you want a conservative that people will take seriously (by people I mean those other than just the religious right) that's the future right there.
Sarah Palin is everything Barack Obama was being accused of, a fresh face celebrity, but if the conservative movement or the GOP is going to hitch their wagons on to her, they better get her a Senate seat. If they run her in 2012 against Obama I think she'll lose horribly.

2010 is the year to pay attention to..36 Governors will be elected. The GOP is already looking to Governors to rebuild the party. Haley Barbour was a former national RNC Chairman and the only Republican that came out of Katrina looking like a hero. He's a conservative with appeal and lots more experience than any "outsider". I guarantee you he won't be coming off as an Alaskan airhead.

Even though I am a leftist in my political views I think I know what would help the GOP rebuild. I wouldn't vote for Barbour, but I think a lot of people would. I still htink the GOP better keep their powder dry for 2012. Historically speaking no one , in the history of the country, ever lost a re-election bid coming off a first term where their favorable were in the high 60's and they beat their opponent in first election by more than 7 million votes. History is on Obama's side for re-election. If he drops below 50% in last two years of his first term then the GOP has a fighting chance.

The GOP will rebuild with Bobby Jindal in Louisiana, Tim Pawlenty in Minnesota, etc.

Here's a really good article on the how the GOP Governors are the way to rebuild.

Pawlenty said something really profound. Ronald Reagan was almost 30 years ago. The GOP is making the same mistake the Democrats made inthe 80s and 90s when they kept pointing to JFK and referencing him and that never worked. The GOP needs a new face instead of pointing to Reagan all the time.

I'm telling you it will be Barbour or Pawlenty. The smartest choice is Pawlenty because the party needs to grow outside the South in order to survive. But Barbour is still a good second for the GOP. Obama is also a blessing in disguise for Bobby Jindal because the public will be softened against any racial prejudice with having an American of East Indian descent in the White House. Of course they might have a problem with his claims of performing an exorcism though. :)

This is your shortlist. The list will grow after 2010. I think Jindal (VP?) or Pawlenty in 2016 is when you might see the GOP back on its feet. But I have to emphasize one thing, and you might not like it. The GOP can not choose to ignore the moderates who vote. If they get hung up on being a mainly conservative party they will lose again. This isn't the same party that Goldwater gave you. The conservative movement was misappropriated by Bush and the religious right.

The tendency of the voters to move to the center since 2006 is another reason the GOP lost. The GOP needs the moderates or they will become a regional party that will be outnumbered.

Does anyone truly believe that ludicrous phrase: "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you?" I'd sooner believe: "The check is in the mail," or "I'll stop smoking tomorrow."

So, let's get one thing straight here: The United States government is NOT going to rescue you, bail you out or help you get through the current economic crisis, recession or depression. (Your pick.)

The sooner you recognize that one salient fact the better off you'll be. You'll have not only a better chance at economic survival, but of eventual increased prosperity: Only you can help yourself through and out of this mess.

Granted, you didn't cause the crisis. In fact, you may have been a responsible citizen, who paid off your own debts, lived within your means, and faithfully prepared your tax returns every April. But, unfortunately, that doesn't matter anymore. This financial storm cloud has grown so large and dark that it's pouring down on all of us, whether we saw it coming or not.

YOU are your only solution.

No rational person should believe that the very government policies that sank us into this economic quagmire can rescue us, especially when their rescue method involves yet another enormous dose of the same political malpractice and insanity that brought us here in the first place!

Government was the cause (as it often has been throughout U.S. history) of this disaster. The very financial firms and banks that were SUPPOSEDLY being regulated went along for the ride. Why shouldn't they? The rigged official system worked in their favor, even as they screwed the rest of us.

More of the same will not fix the problem. And don't you think that those with wealth and power will rig any new regulatory process to work for their benefit, not yours?

As Thoreau observed: "This government never furthered any enterpirse but by the alacrity with which it got out of the way."

And I'll leave you with this quote as well:

John Donne -- "Never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee."

And I tell you, alarms and bells are definitely sounding off.

Nov. 12th, 2008 08:44 am (UTC)
Considerign how many of the people in governemnt or in regulatory agencies were from the banks and investment houses I wonder how you can tell the difference between the two anyway.

Paulson was with Goldman sachs before he was witht he Treasury.

These incestuous relationships with no oversight regulation etc.

A question for you: What do you think Obama is going to do with the second amendment?
