Abandoned Kittens

Some unknown horrible cruel person threw these 4 newborn kittens, minus their mother, in my front yard yesterday. They do not belong to any of my cats, because I've had them all spayed and neutered, besides the last 5 kittens who are almost 4 months old.

These kittens are skin and bone. Grandpa and I have been feeding them Carnation evaporated milk with a little dropper. They were crying yesterday, but today, they are silent. I will continue trying to force the milk inside them, but I don't believe they're going to make it.

I'll never understand why I am always the chosen one who is forced to deal with these heartbreaking situations.

The pain is too much to bear. I am so upset. I've come to the conclusion that somebody up there doesn't like me.

Why do people do such things? :(
Oct. 2nd, 2008 11:32 pm (UTC)
People who do these things are beasts without compassion or feelings for animals.
Oct. 1st, 2008 06:27 pm (UTC)
Because they know you give a damn and you will do what they won't do: THE RIGHT THING!

Thank you Sweety Pie!

No sweetie, someone up there loves you and knows you will help.

It causes you pain, but it is a learning lesson. You will only be stronger for it.

I suppose so, but doesn'e He relize how much pain it causes me?

I'm doing much better today with my new babies! :o)

If you're able, go to the nearest pet store and get some KMR milk replacer. It comes in both powder and liquid. You should also be able to get a feeding bottle as well. The milk replacer is better for them because it is specifically formulated for kittens.

Good luck, praying for you and the kits!

I just made a new post. Thank you so much!

Oh! And kittens can't keep themselves warm. If you have a heating pad, put it under some thick towels or a blanket in a box and keep them in there, making sure things don't get TOO warm.

You're being tested... and once again you are passing with flying colors. All you can do is try to save those little ones, and know you did the right thing no matter the outcome.

You have my total admiration. Stay strong.

Thank you, but I hope this will be the last time He tests me.

I just posted some pics of 2 of my brand new family! :o)

Once before I was doing a comedy show at a hotel, a kitten showed up in the parking lot. It was barely holding on and the other comic found it. The front desk didn't care at all of course, but we did our best to locate an place to come get it. Luckily, someone from the first show who was on their way out decided to take it. We didn't want to have to start the late show with everyone knowing there was a dead kitten in the parking lot. That's a comics worst nightmare! (plus I really love kittens)

I love you for loving kittens! This shows you have a kind heart!

More like someone up there knows you will take in the abandoned and unwanted. I'd suggest getting a St. Francis altar/grotto/whatever for your house because that seems to be the saint you channel. :)

How I wish I didn't love animals so much. The older I become, the feelings for them grow more intense. It's extremely painful.

You're doing amazing things. You may see all of this as horrible and unfortunate, but you are making a real difference in this cruel world. It's your role in this life to help and protect those that can't be protected or help themselves. You may be right where you're supposed to be, doing God's work

When I saw those tiny kittens in my yard, my reaction was that of fear and anger, because I already have so many cats, and because I knew I'd have to be the one to bury them, because I was sure they were going to die.

Today I feel differently because everything humanly possible has been done to keep them alive, and I can now see that they just may make it. Besides, my home has room for 4 more. I already love them with all my heart.

"""evaporated milk with a little dropper"""

mmmmm way to go.
this is the most honorable coolest deepest post I have seen all day.
You 2 saved kittens and are feeding them....wow

Re: somebody up there doesn't like me
No more feeding them evaporated milk with a dropper! Thanks to the advice from a LJ friend, I bought them some kitten formula and a TINY baby bottle. :o)

Someone up there DOES love you and knows that you will give them the love they need and a good fighting chance to survive.

Re: nooooooooooo
I've gotten over the shock at finding those poor little kittens. Now is the time to get to work, and save those little bundles of joy!

Perhaps He does love me; I know He loves his little critter! :o)

what magyarok_saman said. Even the kitty milk at walmart would be better than the carnation. straight-up cow milk might give them the poops and leave them worse off with dehydration.

you are made of awesome for at least making the effort ^_^
Oct. 3rd, 2008 12:18 am (UTC)
You sure were right about the kitty poo!

Thanks to you and magyarok_saman, I'm now giving them the KMR formula. They're still having the kitty runs, but I'm sure it'll stop in a few days.
Oct. 2nd, 2008 07:27 am (UTC)
Maybe your role is to make sure they are spayed/neutered, then fostered out to a loving family.
Oct. 2nd, 2008 11:42 pm (UTC)
I believe you're right, but there's only one big problem; when it's time to find homes for them, it's impossible for me to do so. This is why I now have close to 40 cats!! CORRECTION: 30 cats!

I'm doomed!

AS the previous comments said, somebody up there does love you, and you need to trust Him that He will never take you through anything over that which He knows you can handle. You are a well of compassion and caring for those that are weaker and whether or not the kittens survive, they will have known kindness and dignity from your tender care. Don't be discouraged, sweetie. You are doing a wonderful thing.
Oct. 3rd, 2008 03:23 am (UTC)
You were right, because today is another day coming to its close, and tomorrow will be another brand new day. It's kind of funny, because I seriously now feel like a mother; bottle feeding 4 little babies, and washing poopy bottoms!

Yesterday, I felt fear and uncertainty, because I was positive they would die, but now I see that there is hope!
Oct. 2nd, 2008 03:32 pm (UTC)
*hugs tight* You are a better person than most to even TRY to help them, sweetie. Maybe it was destined that the last thing the kittens were supposed to know is kindness and peace...that there is SOMEONE on earth that has a warm, loving, caring heart. It hurts, but you are doing the universe a trememdous service by being who you are.
Oct. 3rd, 2008 12:10 am (UTC)
Today is a new day, and I am doing, and will continue to do everything in my power for those kittens to survive, and to feel loved and wanted.

Thank you for those tight hugs which are greatly needed!
