1. First of all, health problems continue to pop up. Aside from the tumor, I now seem to have a uterine polyp, and will be an in out patient sometime next week. I've already lost about 12 pounds in a little over a month. If this keeps up, I won’t have a figure in no time! :o(

2. And now for the fun stuff to help me forget about my medical dilemma:

a. Why do you think McCain tried to postpone the Presidential Debate with Obama?

b. Do you think McCain's economical expertise was really needed on Capitol Hill to help solve our economic crisis?

c. Bush want $700 billion to save our economy. Thoughts please. Also, I want to thank [info]daddy for showing me the way to get MY $600.00 promised by Bush! Now that I got it and spent it all to save the economy, does this mean I'll have to give my money back?! :o(

d. What do you think about Sarah Palin, who could be YOUR next Vice-President, and very possibly YOUR next President, beliefs in anti-witch assistance in her campaign, and for better finances?
Witchcraft Potent Number 9

e. PLEASE help me understand what she said? Am I PALIN...er...PAIN...er PLAIN daffy, or did I miss something here?:

a. I seriously think it was grand ploy to delay the VP debates. Recall the proposal to move tonight's debate to next Thursday, supplanting, possibly indefinitely postponing, the VP debate. He's got no excuse now, so he's back on to the original agenda.

b. Bah. Not just no, but hell no. He didn't even read up on the problem until TUESDAY of this week! He has no leadership on the committees in question, plus he's missed so many votes regarding this topic, his 11th hour assistance essentially translates to him sitting on the sidelines while the real negotiators do the dirty work. He claimed he was postponing the campaign but it really just moved to DC.

c. This bailout supports only the companies that created the problem, with no recourse towards the asshats that brought it to the trash-heap in the first place. In the long run, we'll have to do something, but a blank check is unacceptable.

d. I think she's pure window-dressing put on the ticket to appeal to women voters who were going to support Senator Clinton. She's also shielded by her keepers from giving any real interviews or Q/A sessions, supposedly because they think the press is out to get her. She's a running mate in a presidential election, what did they think the press was going to do? Send her cookies?

e. Well. If that's true, since my neighbor is a lawyer, I must know a lot working in the courtroom. She's also got Canada as a more direct neighbor.
Sep. 27th, 2008 06:35 pm (UTC)
d. McCain made a big mistake, because most women are now finding that she doesn't represent them at all.

e. And since Mexico is my neighbor, I must know a lot of their air space! heh heh

I just made a post about last night's debate. It sure would be nice if you'd leave a comment there about what your views was on it!

Since I have teh dumb today and can't brain I will just send you hugs and well wishes for your health. :)

Thank you so much! Those hugs are so needed at this point of my life. The unknown is a little scary.

Witchcraft prayer.......... I suspect that the pastor who prayed this for her has a little trouble expressing himself or has something going on in his country about witchcraft. Normally, one would pray that a person not be invaded by evil spirits (which would include witchcraft). And, in general, this is not the kind of prayer offered when trying to encourage a person.

McCain going to Washington and trying to cancel the debate........ McCain and/or his advisers are trying to get people to believe that McCain is the Lone Ranger riding in to save the day, and that he is a "hero" figure. They can't win on issues. Canceling the debate was just a byproduct of going to Washington to be a "hero".

Personally, I don't think McCain is as sharp as he would have us believe. He's a bit of a loose cannon. Picking Sarah is sure not the mark of someone who wants to be sure the country is in good hands if anything happens to him.

Sarah Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric......... many high school freshmen (and women) would be more thoughful than she is.

The Bailout........... too complicated for me without a lot more understanding of economics. Too bad that there isn't time for a few months of discussion and debate before making a decision.

Lone Ranger
No he doesn't. This is the first time I've ever heard of a Christian Witch Hunter Pastor.

In 2004, Kalins questioned whether or not Americans who voted for John Kerry would get into heaven. He is also alleged to have said that any who criticized George Bush in the wake of the hurricane Katrina catastrophe would be banished to hell. This is really hokey stuff, but it's the type of primitive bible thumping Palin was obviously comfortable with, because she kept coming back for more.

Pastor Thomas Muthee has been described as witch hunter because he claimed a Kenyan woman named Mama Jane was responsible for a series of car accidents. Pastor Thomas Muthee believed Mama Jane was responsible because her home was near the site of the fatal crashes.
Sarah Palin credited witch hunter Pastor Thomas Muthee

I also feel it was all for show.

We all need to know so much more about this economic mess, and this is why I want to hear both Obama's and McCain's exact views on this topic.
Sep. 26th, 2008 08:19 pm (UTC)
a) Because the economic situation is more important than a debate. Postponing the debate a few days would not hurt or help either candidate but could help the United States.

b) His economic expertise no, but his political expertise yes.

c) I think the U.S. should get stock (probably preferred but common will work) equal to the amount of money a company gets, the CEOs should be limited to US$1,000,000 total compensation, there should be serious oversight, and the money should be approved in increments.

But, then, I also believe that any company that pays it's CEO more than 50 times the average corporate wage should have to pay a 10% excess payroll tax and that anyone making more than $1,000,000 per year should have to pay an 50% of any money over $1,000,000 per year.
Sep. 27th, 2008 12:11 am (UTC)
a. I don't believe he was needed, since he's admitted he knows nothing about economics. Everyone I've spoken to, feels it's more important to hear both debating, so we can hear for ourselves just how much each knows when it comes to economics, plus explain as much as possible if there's hope.

Sep. 26th, 2008 08:37 pm (UTC)
a. - 'cause his handlers know this has potential to be some JFK vs. Nixon shit, and they were hoping this lame ploy would also make him look noble in a time of crisis

b. - not so much. I think we're better off if he stays out of it entirely

c. my thought is that Bush shouldnt have set the situation up in the first place

"Let me explain: The administration accomplished this feat through an obscure federal agency called the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The OCC has been in existence since the Civil War. Its mission is to ensure the fiscal soundness of national banks. For 140 years, the OCC examined the books of national banks to make sure they were balanced, an important but uncontroversial function. But a few years ago, for the first time in its history, the OCC was used as a tool against consumers.

In 2003, during the height of the predatory lending crisis, the OCC invoked a clause from the 1863 National Bank Act to issue formal opinions preempting all state predatory lending laws, thereby rendering them inoperative. The OCC also promulgated new rules that prevented states from enforcing any of their own consumer protection laws against national banks. The federal government's actions were so egregious and so unprecedented that all 50 state attorneys general, and all 50 state banking superintendents, actively fought the new rules. "
(from former NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer's Washington Post op ed. piece that ran right before the FBI wiretapped him and took him out of politics for paying a sex-worker)

d. just as qualified as G.W. Bush was, and just as greedy and dumb

e. I suppose that if Russia (or Canada for that matter) swarmed across to Alaska in an unforeseen sneak-attack, her command of the Alaska National Guard would be vital in holding them at bay. she can also teach school children her hunting/shooting skills so they can form "Red Dawn" style guerrilla cadres. AND, if the Russians attempt to use witchcraft, she'll already be prepared.
plus, people in her state government have met with Russian trade delegations.
so it really doesnt matter that she hasnt had a passport until a year and a half ago (due to her being a poor and underprivileged child), and only having left the country to do a photo-op on a US military base.
besides, McCain just took her on a field trip to The Big City so she could meet real-life people from other countries. she's a fast learner!
but let's not get side-tracked away from the important things, like her being a photogenic hockey mom in the PTA.
Sep. 27th, 2008 06:30 pm (UTC)
This flip flopping man just can't say, yes, I said that, and I was wrong.

Sep. 26th, 2008 08:38 pm (UTC)
(1) My heart goes out to you.

(2a) I think he did it for two reasons: (i) Because he wants to give serious attention to the economical crisis; and (ii) because it shows that he puts country first.

(b) His expertise is lacking. However, I'm sure the Republican Presidential candidate has some influence. What he would do is use his influence in order to achieve an outcome favored by the Republican party.

(c) Sounds like a ransom imposed by bankers. I thought we didn't negotiate with terrorists? Oh yeah... I forget... our government is in cahoots with these guys. Rather, it's certain individuals, but since they essentially have control over the government, one can say it's the government.

(d) She's a distraction. She's a religious finatic. She's just another puppet on the stage.

(e) Essentially she said her foreign policy experience has been limited to dealing with Russia and Canada, more specifically related to trade interests of the U.S. and Alaska. Basically, she helps administer trade according to policy.

1. Thank you Tig.

a. Nah. He's spooked by Obama brilliance. I can hardly wait to see these two at the debate!

b. True, he lacks expertise in economics, which he shouldn't, if he's to become our next President.

d. Yes, she is a religious fanatic, but what religion? Christians don't put any faith in witch hunters, and Pastor Thomas Muthee is a witch hunter.

e. For a woman who could very well become our Presideent, her answer as to her foreign policy experience, just didn't satisfy me at all.

Thank you for your well wishes. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

A. Unpreparedness.

B. Nope.

C. No idea where the figure came from or the how and why of it saving or killing us. I have no thought on this topic.

D. Dumb. Unprepared. Inexperienced.

E. She said, in so many words, that she is aware that Russia is the next closest body of land, which she has learned from studying a globe or was told by one of her hired help. She was not able to answer the question or offer any information or confidence that she's done any more with Russia than pronounce it correctly and recognize that it has mass and takes up space.

Jesus Harold Christ. That can't be our next VP. I'll start calling her Dan Quayle.

Re: Answers
c. I once made a post that showed exactly how much ONE billion, and a trillion dollars actually was by showing images of skyscrapers. I can't find it!! :o( Now, if I multiply each skyscraper by 700, I'm sure I'll faint!

e. Now that she's stopped bragging about being a soccer mom, she'll have to show her audience how much she actually knows about things that are crucial to this country, and if she answers as she did with Alaska, Russia and air space, then we're in a heck of a pickle!

Sep. 27th, 2008 07:01 am (UTC)
Ok she asked for it
Some who I have cast spells for will know I am for real. I am a mystic that actually goes the shamanist route. Not exactly a witch, but some of my good friends are. I take her blessing as an act of war. We shall she for she worked against me before I returned the favor. Those who are not XIAN do not have to bow down to the Fundies. Fuck them.

Re: Ok she asked for it
I have nothing against those who believe in witches and spells, but this woman has been proclaiming herself as a Christian, and witchcraft has no place in the beliefs of Christians.

She's either into witchcraft or Christianity; she can't be in both.

a. Why do you think McCain tried to postpone the Presidential Debate with Obama?

s look at this logically.NcCain AND Obama are both Senators first and foremost. They are NOT president or anything else yet. They are being paid by the people of their respective states to do a job. That job is to represent the votors of their state. They expect them to do the job they were elected to do.

When the Senate was trying to find a fair way to fix the problem at hand, McCain knew this and did exactly what the people who voted him in wanted him to do. UNLIKE OBAMA had been running for President all but 3 months of his term so far in the Senate. He really did not do a hell of a lot when he finally was forced back to DC except embarras the hell out of Pelosi and Reid.

b. Do you think McCain's economical expertise was really needed on Capitol Hill to help solve our economic crisis?

He was there NOT to solve the peoblem but supportthe plan that he believes in. Once again I
remind you that he IS a Senator for Arizona and he belongs in DC to do his job and he has justr as much right to be there as Hary Reid does.

c. Bush want $700 billion to save our economy. Thoughts please. Also, I want to thank daddy for showing me the way to get MY $600.00 promised by Bush! Now that I got it and spent it all to save the economy, does this mean I'll have to give my money back?! :o(

are most welcome baby I am glad I was able to help.... but as for Buush's plan, It STINKS ON ICE!!! Its a BULLSHIT plan that will only give the democrats more money to blow and ghive money to organizations like ACORN, one of Obama's money bins. The best plan so far is the Republican House plan that does NOT increase taxes but actually lowers them.

d. What do you think about Sarah Palin, who could be YOUR next Vice-President, and very possibly YOUR next President, beliefs in anti-witch assistance in her campaign, and for better finances?
Witchcraft Potent Number 9

I love her she has common sense and is a go getter. She has a strong faith but does not believe in pushing it on anyone who does not believe as she does. The best thing about her is a sense of HUMOR! T+You have to take some things with a grain of salt. (see below) I have studied the wiCCA BELIEFS and practise some earth magick along with Native American beliefs and my christianity. I find nothing offensive about her. She uis a breath of fresh air.

e. PLEASE help me understand what she said? Am I PALIN...er...PAIN...er PLAIN daffy, or did I miss something here?:
Sarah Palin: I Have Foreign Policy Experience Because My Next Door Neighbor Is Russia!

baby it was a joke, geeeez where is your sense of humor? Its like when Reagan did the sound test before a conference when he said that "Congress has outlawed the Soviet Union, Bombing will begin in 5 minutes" It was a joke pure and simple. The republicans and most people with a sense of humor knew it. The socialists and liberal pukes in congress went ballistic. NO sense of humor.

How about when Winston Churchill, was told by a woman at a paerty that he was DRUNK, and he replied that "YES Madam I am and you are ugly, but tomorrow morning I will be sober!" Its called HUMOR! You know how to laugh, you do make some funnies on here from time to time... You need to look at the lighter side of things.

i have been on and off on this thing and wasn't aware that you were having health issues. i'm sorry that that is the case, but i hope that everything works out for the best.
