Meet John McCain's Pastor - John Hagee

Mr. Hannity (barf! Sorry, couldn't help it!) and others on Fox News ran the Rev. Wright video OVER and OVER, every single day for over a month, and are still doing so. Why haven't they done the same thing with the Hagee video?
Hitler was fulfilling Gods will against the Jews

Thoughts please.

Here is the Youtube video on Huckabee's Obama joke at an NRA meeting in Kentucky.</font>

Huckabee's joke was reaching for an impromptu jab that didn't work. What a schmuck.

Sure wish Huckabee hadn't said that joke, because I really admired him - ONCE!

Video 1: WOW... as you know, I am voting McCain this fall. And I still will, even with this clip. But I applaud you for showing the other side of the coin here. As a Catholic, Hagee offends me. As someone who doesn't endorse gay marriage, but believes gay people have the right to be how they want to be, Hagee offends me. As an American, he offends me. And as a citizen of this world, whose grandfather fought in WWII against Hitler, I am offended by Hagee. But! If Obama's supporters (you & millions of others) say he is allowed to disregard Rev. Wright, then the same courtesy should be extended toward McCain. Fair is fair.

Video 2: If he hadn't made the comment about someone pointing a gun at Obama, the clip wouldn't have been so bad. To joke that he tripped on the way to the stage to speak wasn't that funny, but wasn't offensive. I like Huckabee, and voted for him in the primaries. It disappoints me to see him sink to that level just because of the audience he was in front of.

Don't be angry with ...
Yes, Wright has expressed some pretty horrific views about America, but at least Obama denounced him for it.

Hagee has also expressed a loathing for Catholics, and now the Jewish people. I find it extremely spooky that McCain says "I’m glad to have his endorsement" but also "admires and respects his leadership of his church," and also admires and appreciate his advocacy for the state of Israel.

NO! I don't believe at all the same courtesy should be extended toward McCain, because the Republicans extended absolutely ZERO courtesy to Obama for what Wright said. They ran the Wright videos non-stop.

Try making a search for what Hagee has said, and you'll find it a bit hard to find info. on it, but try the stuff Wright said, and you'll find it everywhere. I find it strange and UNFAIR that many people have never seen this Hagee video. Why not expose both these men equally?

You have expressed how you feel about Hagee. Doesn’t it bother you and even scare you a little that McCain admires and respects this man, and that is GLAD this man endorsed him?!

As for Huckabee's Obama joke, I found it to be and extremely dangerous and deadly joke for an African American running for President of the U.S.

I used to like Huckabee a lot, and still do, but I now find him to be a fool for saying what he did. Even I, who know Jack S*** from Shinola, would never even dare to make a joke like that.

Don't be angry with my opinion on these things, ok? :o)

My thoughts on the joke?

It was the kind of joke that a panderer, without any grasp of what it means to be a proponent of responsible gun ownership, would make.

It would have been funny (maybe) if he'd have left it at "That was Barack Obama, tripping over a chair on the way to checking out his ideological opposition." Or something more along those lines.

I think you are doing it again. Stooping down so much is going to hurt your back.
May. 22nd, 2008 06:39 pm (UTC)
I don't think so, since its being conveniently tucked away from the public by the media.

Besides, I made this post in as much a lady-like manner as I could muster!

Why haven't they done the same thing with the Hagee video?

Because contrary to what their tagline says, the news is anything but fair and balanced.
May. 23rd, 2008 01:15 pm (UTC)
How dare they say it's fair and balanced? LIARS!!

anyone using the words "Hitler", "God", & "Jews" in the same speech is probably asking for trouble, but really he's just spouting the standard evangelical line about biblical prophecy and Isreal and The End Times... which is really just a lame rationalization to continue destroying the Earth.
he was saying God allowed Hitler to do what he did in order to create the state of Isreal. nobody ever asks the question of why God is such a psychotic freak, or how modeling an entire culture's behavior off the human ideal of a psychotic father figure plays out in the real world... but it's what we're stuck with as long as we have evangelical fanatics running the government.

My thoughts, all of thre above are gaffes that will haunt. Not issue related but good enough to frame the whole the difference between Mccain in 2000 and 2008 debate. If he strongly ran under the statement of calling someone like Falwell an agent of intolerance but in 2008 he's SEEKING the endorsement of Hagee there might be a point since it's a clear contradiction of a statement he made during a previous run for office. But that's about it.

If you want some real meat for an argument how about how Israel basically ignored Bush's little "appeasement" speech with the Knesset and just announced talks with Syria. Israel just made Obama's point and knocked the wind out of Bush's argument. Pretty much cut him and McCain off at the knees on that stupid little point they were trying to make, no?

What's role of the press?
I am scared of what has happened to our country's civil rights, we have lost a tremendous amount of our personal liberties in the name of a war on terrorism. John McCain is just a continuation of the policies of Bush, and the secret presidency of The Big Dickless Cheney.

Re: What's role of the press?
Oh, but Cheney isn't DICKLESS at all; he's got a really BIG one! I soon post a pic of the Dick Head! :o)

Obama MUST win if we want a CHANGE!

It sure looks like it. ;o) But he did it a little too late. All the more reason to continue calling the man a Flip Flopper!

OK first off I dont give a damn about McCain He sucks almost as much as Hillary and Obama. but This is gone too far. WHERE and WHEN has anyone ever said that this asshole was McCain's Pastor? He isn't! THAT is why the news media is not playing it over and over. McCain nor his family were members of Hagee's church. Hagee did not marry him and his wife, and McCain did not sit in hagee's pews fpr 20 years.

There is NO real connection between the two like there is between Wright and Obama.

AND I am still waiting to hear some of the things that Hannity is saying that are lies....

NOW if you wanna listen to someone who has sense and good plans and is willing to say what those plans are Google Libertarian Presidental Candidate and read what Bob has to say.
May. 23rd, 2008 12:41 am (UTC)
Please..please..I want more outspoken people for Bob Barr. :) Well not for the reasons you do. McCain would lose Georgia at the very least.

**corrected version**
Hagee thinks Catholicism is the Harlet that's referenced in Revelations, so of course, he stands out against it. And, if you're a Catholic, you're not going to like what he has to say.

As for Hagee's interpreation/application of Jeremiah 16 and the way the media portrays it...

According to the video, Hagee made the claim that God allowed it. Well, according to the Bible, God allowed Satan to test Job also. That doesn't mean that was God's will. So, the media is putting words into Hagee's mouth.

It's quite possible that Hagee is referencing the trial that is going on, i.e. according to the Bible, Satan has made accusations against God and mankind, and Satan has been given a chance to prove his case. That is what is typically meant if anyone says "God has allowed [insert bad thing] to happen." But, it is not God's will.

Furthermore, according to the Bible, Satan is the ruler of this world -- which can be seen when Satan tempts Jesus in the desert. He offers the kingdoms of the world to Jesus. One cannot offer what one does not have control over. So pretty much all that occurs in this world would be the will of Satan, and not God, as Satan has been given the opportunity to prove whether or not he can be a more righteous and just ruler than God.

But anyhow, does that mean Hitler was working for God? I seriously don't think so. Usually when God does away with the wicked in the Bible, he sends angels, not men.

It's possible that the book of Jeremiah proposes a prophecy, and Hitler plays a part in carrying it out. So, maybe Hitler is one of the hunters, but that doesn't mean he is an advocate of God. Hitler wore a swastika on his heart -- which is a sun symbol, i.e. his allegience was to Babylon the Great -- which was operating in the 3rd Reich at the time. Also, Babylon being the mother to religions that deal in astrology.

But, anyhow... without seeing more of Hagee's claims, it's hard to evalute whether his claims are accurate or not.

Hagee is another evangelical fruitcake who should keel over with a heart attack and the sooner the better for the sake of mankind!

I'm telling you, wait until after the Democrats have a solid nominee. The action right now is between Hillary and Barack. When the focus is finally shifted to McCain, this will -- mark my words, WILL -- become an issue.
May. 23rd, 2008 08:57 pm (UTC)
I'll just keep repeating my posts with old news and new news. I'm sure lots will be poping up from now and Novemeber.

I know Obama will be the Democrats nominee!
