1. First of all, if you left me a message in my SCREENED LJ page, and you have G--M--A--I--L, I SOMETIMES will not get your message, but you WILL NOT get my reply for sure! I have no eartly idea why I have this problem with that email account!

2. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home.

Sorry, but this just doesn't jive with me. My property taxes have been skyrocking to ungodly heights to pay for other peoples kids public schooling and medical needs at Thomason General Hospital. I'll be damned if I'll start footing the bill for their college fund, PLUS future homes!!

I'm a Democrat, and I love Hilary, but has she gone QUACKY all of a sudden??!

Thoughts please.

3. 67-year-old Elvira Tellez of Tucson, Arizona, who had just been diagnosed with cancer, was left and forgotten in a CT scan machine at the Arizona Oncology for 5 hours, and it’s wasn't the first time it had happened!!

I don't know if any of you have ever been put into one of these tubes, but they are frightening, because you feel as if you're in a coffin! Poor little lady!!

Thoughts please.

Despite her voting record of the last 6 years (as she's tried to set herself up as an centrist and therefore more electible) has and always will be a socialist/communist. She believes in socialized medicine, She believes in socialized education, She believes in socialized insurance and now she wants to give MY money away.

She plans to pay for everything by taking money away from those who currently work the hardest and pay the most to give it to those that do not.

That is classic socialism.

Recently, in an effort to avoid saying she was a liberal, she said she was a social progressive, a la the turn of the century social progressive. These are the "progressives" that brought us the income tax and prohibition. The ones who knew better how to take care of the people than the people themselves.

IMHO Hillary Clinton = The death of America

Others also = the death of America, but to me she stands out in the crowd.

All I can say is that I suddenly smell a rat! Is she trying to buy votes with the working classes money?!

How easy it is to spend money from the working class people who are already over taxed, and who are already having a hell of a time trying to make the monthly mortgage on their homes! My property taxes have TRIPLED in a matter of THREE years, and already there’s talk of another tax hike!!

Families are having a hell of a time trying to pay for their children’s college, and here this woman (Clinton) comes up with this outrageous proposal that WE pay for other peoples newborn baby’s College and homes!! If this woman wins, and this insane idea of hers comes to be, in 18 years, $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 or so will only manage to buy a Cracker Jack Box of a house or an education.

And another thing, can you imagine the number of babies that will be produced by the BABY MACHINES?!! After all, now there will be $5,000 worth of an incentive to have one each and every year!!

Hillary is a twat.

I mean, you mean, I say, ummm, that all these fuckers out there pushing out child after child that they can't afford and end up sending them off to granny or have them taken by the State is going to cost us $5,000 a hit? No no no. I hate that idea. I also hate the idea that single people, infertile people, gays and lezbos, would have to pay for someone else's kid to start a trust fund. That's ridiculous. We pay school taxes as it is even when don't have kids (which I DO agree with, know the necessity of, and so on), but nothing past that.

Personally, I believe that anyone who is on welfare, food stamps, or any social aid at all and has a child during that period should be fined and/or taxed extra. If they can't afford a kid, they shouldn't have a kid. If they can't afford 2, they shouldn't have 2.

And... on top of that... I believe that child support should be mandatory. No "Oh, well, I don't want him in my life or my baby's life, so I won't go after child support." or "I don't get him mad at me." kind of crap. I think the dad should pay, the mom should pay, and pay whoever or whatever (institution) is the primary care and custodian of the child or children. If granny has custody, both parents must pay granny.

I for one, have no plans on ever getting married, or having children. There are MANY people who feel as I do, so why in the world should WE have to work our asses even harder in order to survive financially for our own needs, PLUS have to worry about sending someone else’s new borns to college, and not only that, but also providing for their home?!!

And please tell me, what if that kid decides NOT to go to college, OR buy a home, then WHO is going to end up with the money we were FORCED to donate to the FUTURE bundles of joy??!!

I wouldn't fret over the baby bond issue. Sounds good on paper but I don't see her having enough support to pull it off. Although........I'd much rather spend my taxpayer dollars on that then some farce of a war in Iraq.

When I hear of these socialist pigs shoving their ideals down the throats of US citizens, it makes me happy that I'm learning what it takes to remove myself from being one of their subjects (i.e. citizen) that is asked with political correctness to bend over backwards for them at the threat of gun while they stuff their pockets with the wealth of the people.

I am not their *FREE* labor force, and I am not a human resource.

Oct. 4th, 2007 06:59 pm (UTC)
I'm also sick of their incredible weatlh at the expense of the working class that sweats to make a dollar just to survive.

why not give every kid 5 grand, it's better than giving the Halliburton execs 5 billion....if the republicans are smart they'll pledge ten thousand dollars and a bible per kid...this will also be a great incentive for those mexicans to come over have a baby and cash in.

Ha HA,You'll all be speaking Spanish in the future gringo!

Why not just leave those $5,000 in our own pockets?!

Shades of Blue Batman!!!
I think it should be every old guy gets five grand for one final fling before taking his dirt nap. Or maybe every currant property owner should get the five grand for up keep on there house. Or how about cat owners getting the five grand to feed the over abundance of felines in some areas. Or maybe illegals should get five grand to set themselves up and to make it even more attractive to sneak into the country. OH OH OH how about an extra five grand to every soldier who has risked his life in service to his country. No no no. Why would we want to do that? I know let's give the money to Iran or some other country that hates us but doesn't quite have the military might to hurt us badly. That way they can build up their forces and give us a real run for our money. OH and yeah I do mean OUR MONEY!!!!! Hey Hillary how about just once taking the high ground as in (HILL) and allow the American working class to keep their money. I know it's a stupid idea but hell look how progressive you would look.

I have gmail and I love it. But, if you send any email to my other address the inspectorjury@velocity-wireless.net I will get it.

I don't have a problem with socialized medicine. With the way that the medical community is bleeding the sick white in order to have a Lincoln Town
Car in every Doctor's garage. Maybe if they had to put a cap on their greed and take care of the needy it could be a good thing. In this day and age what used to be the middle class are now going without medical help as they can not afford it.

The one place we allow no competition is in Utility distribution. We do this because we have strict government controls on those companies. Shit!!!! They are some of the most greedy and heartless corporations in America. If you don't pay your bill here in Indiana no matter what the reason NIPSCO will shut you down. If you are on an oxygen generator no matter they will shut you down. I know this because that is what they told me they would do to me. When I said I believed I was protected under the law they calmly told me I was not protected and they would indeed kill the power. So instead of buying my medicines I paid the electric bill. The whole unexpected disability thing caught me off guard and taught me things I never would have believed. If this is an example of how the government oversees it's socialized programs then I may have to rethink the medicine thing. NIPSCO has asked for and gotten permission to raise their rates by as much as 35% and that was shortly after another rate hike. Where are the people on that overseeing committee who should be saying NO?

I still say that if HILLARY CLINTON has any respect for or love for the Democratic party she will put her dreams of grandioseness away and will allow someone who does not have her very real base of democrats who will vote Republican before they would vote for her. I am among those Democrats.
If fact if the democratic party wants to win the White House and the Congress all they have to do is give up Gun Control. Let the gun owners know that they will be free to bear arms (I'm not sure but I think there is a piece of paper somewhere that allows that.)and they will be in. If the Republicans what to when then it will take a bit more. 1. Quit trying to jam religion down everyone's throat. 2. Quit trying to protect the public from themselves. 3. Realize that personal freedom is more important than any amount of safety. I find it ironic that the Republican party is quite willing to send our young men and women into harms way taking away their safety in order to take freedoms away from the folks back home in the name of safety. You can not defend against terrorists if they decide to attack for in order to do that you will have to be everywhere on full alert and even then some terrorist might get through. You protect the airports they attack the train stations. You protect the train stations they attack the water supply. You protect the water supply and they attack the airlines. You simply can not be everywhere at once. So in reality Homeland Security is a joke. It's only good for taking away the personal freedoms of the innocent, for the guilty will find a way around them.

Cat scan lady should sue them.

Re: Shades of Blue Batman!!!
How wonderful it would be if cat lovers and our soldiers would get that $5,000!! But hey, with the military medical care they get, I don’t think it will ever happen. How it sucks!! I wonder if cat food, dog food, and vet bill are tax deductible. I went to Sam’s yesterday and bought 200 and some odd pounds of cat food!!!

Come to think of it, that $5,000 sure would help feed me and Grandpa!!! We’re down to our last Pinto Bean!! I’m starting to really look like a Beaner in a Beanery!!! Heeeeeeee

Why haven’t you gone into my tag board??!! I’m there Mon. thru Thursday, 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM MCT!!
So much greed and so little compassion. I wonder how these people can sleep soundly at night.
Whether we vote Dem or Rep, we’re screwed! I don’t trust any of them anymore. It’s starting to look like the government is looking for the wellbeing of all those who have never worked a day in their lives, while the working class, goes closer and closer, year by year, towards welfare.

Homeland Security isn’t a joke, it’s frightening. Perfect excuse to watch over all of us. I have a feeling that someday soon, in the name of Homeland security, it will be mandatory that they place cameras inside our homes!

Cat scan lady SHOULD sue them!!
I’ll be on tonight at my tag board. Hope you will drop by, my darling Inspectorjury. I’ve been feeling funny mentally lately!

I think the idea is that a better educated populace is good for all of the populace and all the comments made here about 'poppin' babies out to get the money... they evidently didn't read or maybe understand what it was about --- how would that give them any more money?

myself? I have no opinion about it until I see more information. I hate to make a decision or make an opinion with 2% of the information like way too many do.

'hope you are well and enjoying Peace in your heart

What worries me is, that this idea of perhaps giving away $5,000 per newborn for college or a down payment on a house, will give much more incentive to illegals crossing over to have their babies here. I live in a border city, and already have more illgals than you can imagine, and our property taxes continue to go up each year. Babies are born left and right at the county hospital, and I don't like it at all, not when it's all coming out of the property owner's pocket. Besides, what happens to all that money, 18 years from now (with interest), should these babies decided not to persue an education, or buy a home?

There are way too many freebies as it is. These people can already get not only a free education in elementary schools, but also in colleges, not to mention medical care.

Let each person fend for themselves. If OUR money is to be giving away, then I'd rather it go to the American soldiers who are fighting for this country.

I'd vote for some form of baby-bond
The general argument in favor of it might be summed up as we as a society have an interest in not letting the lowest of our citizens fall too low. And that by giving every American baby a government bond to start accumulating compound interest in their name means that when they turn the age of maturity, they can use that money to go to school or buy a house or start a business and be further productive members of society.

Because patriotic mythology aside, vanishingly few captains of industry started with absolutely nothing, and even fewer got rich without the government being involved somehow. Why not invest in ordinary citizens instead of just huge corporations?

A baby born with zero resources to culture of poverty who turns 25 (or what ever age) with nothing whatsoever accumulating interest in the back all those years has much fewer options. We talk a good game about personal advancement, but I see people my age drowning in debt that paid for education they thought would help get them ahead. Our parents generation didn't get out of college saddled with crippling debt at the point when they're just beginning they're lives. The government invested in the GI Bill (among other things) that created the (now rapidly disappearing) post-war middle class.

Not every one of those babies will make good use of those bonds. But I think America could do worse than to say "Here you go, that's a head start. See what you can make of yourself."

Re: I'd vote for some form of baby-bond
Also, those babies are going to be the citizens who populate the country you grow old in.

Even on a limited self-interest basis, I care about their future.

It's not the intent that I am against, but the wackiness of the idea. Here's the difference between Obama and Hillary. They may be cut from the same cloth in terms of liberal philosophy, but Obama has a reputation for working out deals that don't compromise his ideals. He knows how to engage with colleagues on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

Hillary Clinton is the "anti" candidate, she is going to keep the status quo in terms of the divide between people on both sides in congress, etc. She is the rallying point for the GOP, she's the boogeyman they need to unite themselves from base to fringe. That's counterproductive to what this country needs.

The reality is she wants to appear to be in the mainstream wing of the Democratic Party when she votes, but whenever she makes a proposal she polarizes everyone into two camps. I shy away and worry about anything that's supposed to be "mandated".
Oct. 4th, 2007 06:27 pm (UTC)
I'm really confused. I most definitely want to vote Demo, and my eyes have been toward Obama. I've loved the Clintons, but this thing Hillary has brought out about giving away money to every newborn baby, has upset me very much. I feel the working class already gives more than enough.

Am I mistaken or what? But don't these low income families have easy access to an education and home buyers already?

With all due respect, sweet one...
Hillary has NOT just gone QUACKY all of a sudden... She has been fucking nuts from the beginning. She is a Socialist has always been a socialist and will always be a socalist.

Look at the insane Socialized Healthcare she tried to push through when she was Co-President. Look at the Insane healthcare upgrade she just tried to push though that BUSH vetoed today. It TOTALLY made a good program to give healthcare for poor children into a socialized medicine program that will allow adults up to 25 years old to be included and children of families that make up to $80,000.00 a year. PLUS that stupid 5 Grand for each child born here, WHO will pay for that?? We will! Hell I dont even make 35 grand a year and no one helps me to pay for MY health care or dental. And no one will pay for my car OR help me go to college.

THEN there is the WAR TAX that the Democrats are pushing today... People will be taxed 2% to 15% to pay for the War. Are they NUTS??? And Representive Dingle wants to add a 50cent carbon tax to gasoline and any other type of energy progucer, and just like any other TAX once its levied it will never go away.

This BS that Hillary and the other Democrats are pushing is CRAZY, but dont feel bad... Most all the Republicans in Congress right now have completely forgotten their roots of LESS Government and LESS Spending and are totally loosing their support base. They are as bad as the TAX and Spend Democrats.

I am honestly thinking that we will need a NEW Boston Tea Party, before all this crap is over.

Anyone who feels they are true Americans need to get and read the book, "The 5000 Year Leap; The 28 great ideas that changed the world"
It is quotes from our founding fathers, that cover exactly what is happening right now. Read their actual thoughts on the problems we are facing right now and see who is trying to do what those who started America, actually believed. It is an eye opening read.

Re: With all due respect, sweet one...
You're right Daddy, but there's nothing any American can do about it anymore. It doesn't matter what the people want, or who we vote for anymore. The government is going to do what it wants to do, by hook or by crook. What's happening now is exactly what the forefather's were against. All they worked so hard to accomplish in this country, has gone down the drain.
