THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO THE PREVIOUS ENTRY IN MY JOURNAL ABOUT THE ISSUES OF: IRAQ, PRESIDENT BUSH, GAYS, THEFT AND ARMY
When I state that I'm 100% behind Bush, this doesn't mean that I agree with EVERY issue. In fact, President Bush is for the Death Penalty, I am EMPHATICALLY AGAINST IT. On the issue of President Bush backing legal barrier to gay marriages, I am totally against it. I believe that the government shouldn't dictate or become involved with peoples personal affairs. I believe that every human being should have the right to marry whomever he/she chooses. I am Catholic and will continue to be one, even though I disagree with the Pope opposing legal rights to homosexual unions. I myself am straight and have the right to live or marry whichever man I decide to do so; I believe the gay community has the SAME right I do!
I spent 4 years of my life with the United States Army. My unit was the 552 Air Defense Artillery. If you read my LJ USERS INFO. you will find there exactly where I was stationed and the countries I was deployed to and for the length of time.
It was totally VOLUNTARY, when I joined and signed the contract, literally giving my life the Army. I knew EXACTLY what would be expected of me. I knew that if there came war, I would have to participate in it. I wasn't drafted, (doesn't exist anymore) nobody forced me to join. I was scared to death, being a young, fragile girl, among huge strong men. Boot camp was hell, but it had to be, in order to train and prepare us for the REAL world, should there be war.
The U.S. Armed Services take EXCELLENT care of their soldiers. There are no ifs or what's about it. The Army feeds its troops more than enough FRESH HEALTHY good food. Soldiers are fed 3 good meals per day. Breakfast and dinner consist of 2 HOT meals which consist of everything OUR MOM or a restaurant prepares for us. For lunch an MRE is given. In May, 2003, I completed with an honorable discharge my 4 yr. tour with the U.S. ARMY. When I joined, it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. Were it not for the U.S., I would not be the proud owner of my own home, and should I decide to continue my education, they pay for it! For those who make a career of it, the benefits are ENDLESS.
The 101st Airborne your say your cousin is in is stationed in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He would still have been there, living a normal life. But, sadly the United States went into war and he is now in Iraq. When it comes to the Armed Forces, there are NO guarantees what the future holds. Our boys have very much to do in Mogul. With deployment, things such as this are part of combat. They are there to provide stability from people looting, etc., until their government establishes itself after 20 or 30 years of tyranny by Saddam. I hate to imagine the United States without police or government!
You state that "our mail troops are greedy and steal stuff." NOT TRUE! NEVER, in my 4 years of service, did I EVER hear of a soldier accusing theft from within, much less the mail troops. EVERY man and woman in the service, is READY, WILLING and ABLE to give their life for this country if need be.
On the MILITARY issue, I stand 100% behind President Bush. Another issue of which I totally agree with is that of the journal of DADDY
This is to the public who wish to participate in discussing this issue. Whether you're PRO or ANTI on these issues stated here, your input is more than welcomed. Express yourself in a respectful manner, if you don't, I WILL DELETE YOU and ban you. THIS IS MY JOURNAL and I will NOT permit images here. Use your own journal to add images.
