A LAWYER feels his pair of lost pants are worth 65 million
dollars and is suing his dry cleaner for mental suffering,
inconvenience and discomfort.

The dry cleaners gave him $150.00 for losing his pants,
but he feels this isn't enough.

What an abuse of our legal court system!

If he refuses the $150 offered by the cleaners, I hope the court dismisses the lawsuit!!

None of my pants cost $150.00.

Agreed!
I would have just taken the $150 and paid a few bills. Honestly.

meh, this case will get thrown out eventually.

You have to take into account alot of law school grads, who can't get lawyerin jobs, partake in frivelous lawsuits as a means of income. He should have just sued a bar for a "ladies night" sexual discrimination suit, he probably would have won.

The problem here is that the judge accepted it!!!

Stop? And put all the underpaid lawyers out of work!? Seriously, these will stop only when the courts refuse to accept them.

Sorry:( Haven't been around lately *hugs* Have great weekend!

I KNOW you haven't been around lately! I've missed you!

For as long as judges accept such outrageously frivolous lawsuits, this will continue.

I blame the judge for accepting it!!

This judge should be gaveled rather severely on the forehead.
That is ridiculous. A pair of pants may be worth $150 (I know I
have spent more than that trying to get a pair off).......

It will be hard for this little Korean dry cleaning business to survive, because they've already spent a great amount of money with their defense lawyer.

They should counter sue the asshole, and take him for everything he's worth, including the pants he's wearing!

Good god. I woulda taken the $150, likely. I certainly would have agreed to a $12000 settlement...that's WAY more than adequate. Maybe I'm drunk, but that's just plain ridiculous. He'll lose, I hope...and I hope they file a countersuit and rake him in for legal costs and then some. Would be a nice lesson to teach him.

Ridiculous!

He better lose, otherwise, the legal system will be proven to be a farce!

Only problem here is, the poor Korean cleaners will probably go out of business, because they've already had to pay attorney fees to try and save themselves!!

To tell you the truth He is just trying to make news, he will only get the cost of the pants less the depreciation on them. He is just making a lot of noise and wasting the courts time, he needs to get a real life :o) and he is the one that has to prove the cleaners did some thing wrong or where negligent. Maybe he works for fox news he sounds like he should be lol :o)

I think he's just trying to steal money for those poor Koreans, and he, as well as the judge who accepted the case, should be disbarred.

He probably does work for Fox News! :o)

Sounds like the lawyer who tried to sue his own son for the money it took to raise him. Guy wanted like $5M FROM HIS OWN SON.

He is the reason we have lawyer jokes....
Why don't sharks eat lawyers??

I didn't know about that case!

Perhaps someday, lawyers will conduct themselves as true professionals, and the oodles of jokes about them will come to an end.

A Lawyer Joke

A stingy old lawyer who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness was determined to prove wrong the saying, "You can't take it with you."

After much thought and consideration, the old ambulance-chaser finally figured out how to take at least some of his money with him when he died. He instructed his wife to go to the bank and withdraw enough money to fill two pillow cases. He then directed her to take the bags of money to the attic and leave them directly above his bed. His plan: When he passed away, he would reach out and grab the bags on his way to heaven.

Several weeks after the funeral, the deceased lawyer's wife, up in the attic cleaning, came upon the two forgotten pillow cases stuffed with cash.

"Oh, that darned old fool," she exclaimed. "I knew he should have had me put the money in the basement."

If there was diamonds sewn onto the pants, and each pocket was stuffed with thousand dollar bills, maybe the lawsuit's justified. Otherwise, this is a judicial disgrace. A new law should be passed where those that press stupid litigation should have to pay a severe fine if the judge finds the case too stupid to continue

In this case even the judge accepted it!!

This is why so many companies are going over seas to conduct their businesses, and I don't blame them.

I believe there are still many lawyers with integrity, but it's the bad ones who give the others a bad reputation.
