Just think, you were going to vote Republican not so long ago. Good thing we gave you reasonable doubt about this administration

Wait, WHAT?

Do you seriously believe
A> The Republicans are all a like
and
B> Democrats haven't been a part of all of the lies, and are currently lying to us along side the Republicans?

No, I don't believe that, but until further lines of moral demarcation are made in both parties, I have to judge them as partisan entities. The GOP was of one mind until the last year and a half, when there's been severe internal conflict and a swing by part of Congress to the centrist mindset. With all the ethics trials and judicial chaos of late, I can't really tell who's part of the problem, who's been misled, and who's part of the solution. Until the smoke clears and some semblance of order is established after the Republicans officially hand over the keys to Congress, I can't really say I know who to believe, so I'm lumping the problems squarely at the Republicans' feet, who have had all the power the last handful of years.

I'm not saying the Democrats are more ethical. They're just not guilty of all the bullshit of late. I have no doubt they'll tally up their own pile of lies, deceit and mismanagement in time, in which case, I'll be critical of their asses

Yep. Been lied to a lot.
And we're still being lied to.

The only problem is, it's the entire government doing the lying, not just the Republicans or the Democrats separately, but the Republicans and the Democrats together.

Can't say I have a solution, but if I still won't vote Democrat, preferring to vote Libertarian first and Republican a distant second.

There are not many good people in the present admistration and there sure as hell were not many good one's in the last bunch that was in office either. Give people power and most of them let it go to their head. Power is a dangerous thing. I know I had a little bit at one time. Intoxicating.

Today I am just a bottom feeder, taking what others give me. grin...

Today I found, in the stuff I brought home from The House yesterday, a complete newspaper from your home town, The El Paso Times April 20, 1952, complete 104 pages, with Sunday funnies.
Headline reads: U.S. Extends Enlistments

Would you like to make me an offer for it? The paper is a bit brown, but you might enjoy reading what was going on 55 years ago in El Paso. The front page has 4 stories about the military on it. Intersting.

The money goes to this little 98 year old lady spending her last days in a nursing home.

I am selling the stuff from her house.

Yes Ron, power is a very dangerous thing, and too many are using it in government. I'm starting to wonder if I'm truly living in the America our very wise and honorable forefathers created so long ago!

I am very interested in that newspaper. How much are you selling it for?

Newspaper
I am not asking any price, just whatever you would pay for it plus shipping and it it yours. Like I said, the money goes to a little ole lady in a nursing home.

Until we can find another Teddy Roosevelt, Lincoln or Bobby Kennedy no administration can truly be trusted. I might sound a bit naive but these men whose words carried the most sincerity to me.

Teddy Roosevelt was a jingoistic man, but he truly put his country before every interest. He wouldn't let the US become the corporate states of america, and he was preaching about preserving our natural resources way before it was fashionable.

Whether you agreed with his politics or not, he was the granddaddy of progressivism.

Lincoln came into to the birth of a major national crisis. instead of playing the old spoils system of granting power to his supporters, he created a cabinet madeup of his political rivals. He recruited them to serve their country with all their special abilities and know how. Kept the union together.

Bobby Kennedy is probably the greatest man to never become president. He was the only man at the time who could have put us back on track when it came to our national spirit and dignity. He had the ear of Martin Luther King, Cesar Chavez, and had the guts to take on the crooked Teamsters admin. He was a staunch anti-communist. Nixon was our punishment for the death of RFK.

No one can come close to these, my favorite, of the presidents or almost presidents.

A lot of liars, but I do believe this administration has taken it to a level no one has ever come close to.

It's not about parties, it's about the Whitehouse. Remeber these entities tend to do things a lot differently than the others. Each body jealously guards what they are doing until they need to publicize or consult with the other.

George Washington warned us about what would happen if we became too partisan.

Are there many like myself who become more and more disillusioned by all these people running our government? I wonder if I’m just wasting my time when I continue to dwell on the political aspects of this country.

I have no idea who I’ll vote for, because so far, I don’t trust those who will run for President. I can’t help but having this deep intuition that they’re all liars, that they’re in it for their own personal interests.

I don’t believe men like Lincoln, Roosevelt, King, and Chavez exists anymore.

I am so filled with exasperation at finding that those in high power do not listen to what the majority of the people want, that I may not even bother to vote next year! There are just too many lies surfacing day by day.

Did you watch Bill Moyers Journal on PBS Wednesday evening? Very intriguing. Bill's focus was on how a lot of the mainstream media got duped by the White House's agenda for going to Iraq. A bit long, but worth watching.

I was just astounded when Moyers asked why going farther away from D.C. yielded better answers to the Iraq mess. Not surprising, but certainly true in this case. One of my favorite moments in the show was when the Oprah show was highlighted. Oprah shrugged off a very assertive audience member that said the confusion about going to war left her with too many doubts. Oprah interrupted the woman by saying that "you're entitled to your opinion". The woman in the audience never got to say her piece. Sucks. I guess she was a "patriot" for that moment, huh?

No I didn't, and by the sound of it, I regret I did!

I've noticed that people are quickly cut off, just like woman you spoke of, when they don't express the hosts same sentiments on certain issues! Yes, it sucks!!

Yes, the apparent lies concerning Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch are very disturbing. If the situation is truly what we are now hearing about, I hope someone is disciplined severly.

Unfortunately the military is known for "painting the picture" the way that is most favorable to them.
