San Antonio, Prison, Dream, Cat's Death

1. I left early Monday morning of last week to San Antonio, and got back Saturday night. I made the mistake of driving over there to save money, instead of taking a plane, as I have done for the past two years. This is the last time I drive over there, because it was such a long, tiring, and dreary drive. It seemed I'd never get there. Never again! Next year, I'll fly.

I stayed at the same little motel in Kenedy, Texas, which is own by some people from India. I'm not going to repeat myself, because I did the exact same thing I did last year, and the year before last, and the only difference is that one of the inmates that has had me on his list, will be getting out by the end of this year, which makes me very happy for him. We will never meet again, and when I go again next year, I'll go see his replacement.

I also decided to stay a few more days in my motel, enjoying the solitude, watching TV, and tinkering with my laptop.

If you would like to read in detail what it's like to go inside the prison walls, CLICK HERE.

I did go to the Alamo and River Walk in San Antonio, and rode in one of the boats. I took a few pictures of the Alamo and the River Walk and of a beautiful bronze statue at the Army base. I'll post them later.

2. I had a very disturbing dream a couple of weeks ago, about one of my cats being run over in front of my house. The cat was gray, and was thrashing around in agony. The nightmare became real this morning. When I got in my car to leave for work, I saw one of my cats dead on the street. I went to see it, and he was spattered from head to tail on the pavement. I had to go grab a shovel and literally scrape it off the road to put him in a little cardboard box. There was one difference from the nightmare I'd had before, this cat wasn't gray, but yellow. I'm very upset.

It was the yellow one at the bottom of the picture, that's looking straight at me. He was one of the three, and the last of the 17 cats I barely had spayed and micro-chipped about 2 weeks ago.

I believe I have 15 cats left. 14? 16? I've lost count! How I wish I didn't have cats, because it's impossible to keep them confined like you can with dogs. It's more than I can bare when I lose one!

Oh playgirl I am so so sorry about your cat!

Thank you Sweety Pie!

It's quite shocking to find a beautiful, healthy little animal in that condition. I'll never get use to it! And what makes it all the more tragic is the fact that I'll continue to find them dead with time. It's inevitable.

Girl I was wondering where you were. I lost track of my friends page and touch with all else online while learning to do minor crafty home things to alleviate stress. I missed you.

And love to you lady. I cried for you. I couldn't bare to loose my babies and that hit home. Now *tears in eyes I bid you good night and pray for a better day tomorrow!

Come every February, I leave for San Antonio to visit inmates. The trip always leaves me sad and depressed, because I see so many human-beings, caged up like animals, for a mistake they once committed, and now are paying the price, as it should be.

Grandpa is going to teach me how to grow a beautiful plant with ONE BEAN and COTTON BALLS (no soil)! When I get started, I'll post pics of it for you, so you can do it, too! :o)

I sometimes wonder if some people try to run over cats and dogs when they see them on the street. I shouldn't think such horrible things.

It's amazing what the wheel of a car can do to a once beautiful, and full of life little creature!

Sending you lots of love and hugs Sweety Pie!

I am very upset with you.

You were in my city of San Antonio and made no effort to contact me.

Boo to you, Playgirl. Boo to you.

After we're married I'll expect you to tell me where you are going when you take off for a week. Sheesh, I was trying to figure out where you were. I am glad you're safe.

Well, just remember that when every February comes around, I'll be on my way to San Antonio! And don't you go around getting ideas about seeing another woman while I'm gone, 'cuz my brothers will be spying on you!

Oh, and when I get back, I'll expect a little love poem written especially for me, to put a smile on my face! In fact, I'll expect you put a little smile on my face every time you see me! heh heh

Goin' to the chapel and I'm gooonnna get married! :o)

I was wondering where you were. Sorry to hear about your kittie. At least he had a good home and a momma that loved him so he died happy.

I miss San Antonio. The riverwalk is one of the prettiest places in the world. I miss the great places to eat all along that area too.

I still can't get used to losing a cat in that way, and it's quite shocking to see them running around so happy to be alive, then finding them splattered in the street.

I wish people would be more careful when driving, and at least trie to avoid hitting and animal that dashes out into the street. I know I do.

The River Walk is amazing. I enjoyed the boat ride, and then sitting at one of the little tables, and watching the people get on the boats and get off.

The very first time I saw the Alamo, I was surprised to find it so little. I always thought of it in my mind as a gigantic fort!

I am so very sorry to hear about your kitty. That is so sad.

I know how our pets can become our 'family' no matter what species they are.

I only hope I don't get more strays coming to live with me.

I worry like crazy about these wild little cats, and when I see how happy and trusting they become after a while, then finding them dead as I continue to find them, it really affects me terribly. It angers me, too, because every time I find one run over, I ask it why in the hell did he decide to leave my enclosed yard, when I have food, water, and enough space for it to play around.

Thank you!

I am glad you had a safe trip and are back home safely.

The River Walk is a very pretty area isn't it?? I am glad you got to enjoy it.

Yes it is. I really enjoyed going around the city in a boat, and looking around at all the little shops. I would have visited more places there, but I was so tired from the long drive there, and only wanted to rest up for the long drive back.
