Miss America

Will Trump Save 'Miss America'?

After listening to Tara Conner's version of all accusations against her, Donald Trump HAS chosen to save her by giving her a 2nd chance.

Perhaps all the blood sucking JEALOUS vultures will now leave this beautiful girl alone.

I ask this question, who among us has NEVER made mistakes?

fair enough
Not many people get so much leverage for a second chance. I don't have a problem with Trump doing this. But, I think he has more of a vested interest in keeping the pageant alive than he does in helping out Tara. The Don does own 50 percent of that, after all.

As far as Tara goes, it's her chance to shape up or ship out. She'd do well to take whatever advice Trump gives her, as long as she can evaluate things on her own terms.

Re: fair enough
I believe that if Trump had chosen to can Miss America, he would have gotten much more favorable publicity, which would have boosted his interests in this.

Tara was raised in a little town, and when she found herself so famous in such a big state, she just wasn't able to handle it. I believe she's learned an awful lot with this little scare.

Tara should go into porn. More Money and more honest.

Nah. Tara is going to be as famous as can be in a good way, without doing porn.

It's not like this was a one time mistake though.
She new the requirements for the job but chose to party all night long all the time, drink underage repeatedly and tested positive for drugs.

She should have gotten the boot. :)

Everyone deserves a 2nd chance, Sweety Pie!

If she doesn't get her act together this time, then she should, and will be booted out.

I feel she's learned her lesson, and will pleasantly surprise us all! :o)

did anyone actually read the article?
the article is talking about trump's attempt to save the miss america pageant by buying it from the tv station who because of low viewers has decided to cancel it.

i don't see where the mistake is...

Re: did anyone actually read the article?
I've been watching the pageants since I was a tot, and would hate to see them cancelled.

Hopefully, with this new little scandal, it will be brought back to full life again.

It seems like the issue here is that all of the accusations against her are heresay and conjecture...If there was a cell phone video of her somewhere she'd be in real trouble.

That's exactly it! It's all heresay. Why is it that there are no photos catching her in the acts she's been accused of?

There are some people who love make a mountain out of a mole hill.

I've seen a couple of women on Fox news talking bad about her, and I just can't help seeing a tinge of green all over their faces! :o)

I think that it's reasonable to give her another chance and I'm also surprised (based on the alleged behavior) that Trump did it.

When you choose to take the path of a public life/..(ie entering beauty pagents) you give up right to privacy...that is how it works...if you want to be left alone then you engage in a PRIVATE lifestyle....

AND coming from a teaching perspective....where we have moral turpetude clauses in our contracts and are not supposed to be seen buying booze in the community....because as teachers we have to present a HIGHER standard. I feel that ALL public/celebs have that same kind of obligation. Esp sports stars and anyone else (like pagent winners) who are held up as role models for our youth.

It is kind of like the fucked up people who go on talk shows and then when the audience criticises them they say, "You have NO right to judge me." But the truth is that everyone was granted the right to criticise the moment they went on the show....YOU chose to go on TV...now we all get to judge.

Make any sense?

Yes, you make sense.

You are right about positions where it is most important to present higher standards, but it’s just not happening anymore.

SOME celebrities, teachers, politicians, sports idols, men of the cloth, presidents, etc., have made and continue to make bad decisions. And what makes it all worse, is the fact that their bad behavior somehow leads them toward the road to fame and wealth.

The fact is, she got herself caught up in the party culture, not the other way around. She's in a high profile position, and she knew what standards she was supposed to uphold. Therefore, her actions were not mistakes; rather, they were bad decisions.

The fact that I got to read the headline "Miss USA enters rehab" was a hilariously disturbing development. I can't say this bodes well for what the title stands for. However, since I don't care in the first place, I'll chalk this up as Trump's latest plaything and let it go.

By the way, what are your standards for beauty? I suppose the contestent is sort of pretty in that "I know she's supposed to look good but I just don't see it" sort of way, but the way you throw the word "beautiful" around... eh. I attach a greater meaning to the word than most.

And because they were bad decisions is all the more reason to give her a 2nd chance.

My standards for beauty?

I believe I attach a much greater meaning to the word than most. I tend to see the beauty in everyone I see. Those I find ugly are the ones with an ugly heart. Just today, I suddenly found Trump to be ugly because he just showed his ugly heart!

You know how the media is. They love to make a big deal out of nothing, and that's what they've done with this woman.

I think she end up showing them all the best side of her from here on out.

It's not Miss America, it's Miss USA. But to be honest, the blood sucking vultures are basicallt Trump and his group. He only wants to make sure he gets his money worth. No one else really cares whether Miss USA gets, fired, gets put into a porn flick, or sells her tiara for crack.
It's not like she has a real job you can point at. I mean people can at least name a few Miss Americas and runner-ups who became famous. Not too many Miss USA winners are well known.
As for a second chance, that's why they have runner-ups and why it's a competition. The very nature of the contest means they don't allow for any leeway if you messup because it isn't fair to the runner-up.
To messup like she did would get you fired without question in any other job you had. And Donald Trump was unusually lenient.

It seems like many are blood sucking vultures, sucking the blood of the under dog, and I feel Tara is the underdog in this case.

What we need to start doing is having more compassion for those who have made mistakes, and forgiving. What good would it do to fire this woman? She’d probably go into deep depression and start drinking like crazy. By keeping her, I’m sure she’ll do her very best to make up for whatever she did in the past 8 months.

Anyway, just look at some of our politicians, teachers, sports idols, and see how they have erred. For example, look at the Miss America who was canned from her title. She’s as famous now as can be. Look at Monica Lewinsky. She ended up making quite a little fortune for herself, and that woman with the big nose, who made accusations toward Clinton, and who later had her nose reduced because some rich guy paid for surgery.

It seems to me like bad behavior reaps fame and fortune these days!

It’s only hearsay about the things Tara has been accused of. Knowing how the vultures work, I’m sure they added much more unfavorable comments than there actually were.

Anyway, as for Trump, I think it was very big of him to stand by her and give her another chance.
