André Rieu

I’d like to go into a little more detail of my experience on Monday, and seeing live, André Rieu. Should he ever appear in you part of town, I totally recommend you go see him!

The Johann Strauss Orchestra entered, one by one, playing Entry of the Gladiators with their instruments. I nearly slid out of my chair in ecstasy. Never had I seen or heard such beauty. The lovely women were wore beautiful long and simple gowns, and the handsome men wore tuxedos. Heaven must be just like the way I felt that day! And what can I say about André Rieu, but that he’s a prince! So humble, so charming, so talented and so wonderful! I’ve gone twice in my life to see Raúl Di Blasio play live in Cd. Juárez, and although he plays beautifully also, he just can’t compare with André Rieu.

I’ve added a midi at the bottom, and among my many favorites, (Concerto of Aranjuez – Rodrigo) of one of the songs that were played. Of course, this is only a midi and sounds totally inferior to how I heard Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra play it!

Concerto de Aranjuez
Joaquin Rodrigo

Yes, a pleasure and a totally unforgettable experience.

Andre Rieu, as well as each and ever member of the Johann Strauss orchestra are masters at playing their instruments. Many songs were played; among them were Ode to Joy, the Emperor's Waltz, and Blue Danube. I was hoping he'd play Romeo & Juliet, and Bolero de Ravel, but he didn't.

I must admit that I'm a terrible person, 'cuz just as soon as I found out he was coming to town, I started hinting how much I'd love to see him, and eventually got an invitation! ;o)
