I recently bought FINAL EXIT for 50 cents at the 2nd hand thrift shop. This book has made a tremendous impact on my life!

The book shows different step by step methods of killing yourself, should you become terminally ill.

I will remember these methods, should I become terminally ill, because I believe I have every right to end my life peacefully and with dignity. Since it's my life, and my body, I have every right to make my own personal choices. My choice to die, is not my family's, is not my friends, and most definitely, it's not the governments.

Should the day ever come, that some illness for which there is no cure befalls me, I will do it without anybodys assistance, because OUTSIDERS will continue sticking their noses in this most controversial issue, and I wouldn't ever dream of getting someone in trouble with the law.

Health care is highway robbery, and I'll be damned if I would ever leave my hard earned money, and whatever possessions I will have acquired, to the medical profession for their stupid methods to stop the suffering of my incurable disease. I'd much prefer to leave my money to those I love.

All those NOSEY BUSY DO GOODIE BODIES who continuously stick their nose in other peoples business, when it comes to euthanasia, could care a horses buck teeth whether I live or die.

I am as healthy as a horse for now, but should this ever change to the point where there's no hope, then I shall do what needs to be done, and that is to yell out those words which my dear friend Lolly is always saying, my last hoorah!

The government already dictates how I am to live, I'll be damned if they dictate how I will die!

Dr. Kevorkian will always be my hero!

I support your right to do what you wish with your life.

But, if you ever get diagnosed with something, at least come visit me for a bit.

There's a time to live, and there's a time to die. When one is sentenced to a life of pain and agony, and no hope in sight, that's the time to die.

I will. :o)

I do not have a living will - yet.

But all of my family knows my wishes. They are remarkably alike yours.

I paid an attorney about $250.00
I paid an attorney about $250.00 to have my Living Will. When I saw that lady (I can't recall her name) spattered on TV, all over the world, because her parents refused to have the plugged pulled, that's when I immediately went to a lawyer.

Yes, Living Wills are free. But what if you don't have one, and experience a horrible accident which leaves you in a coma for years. You must sign a Living Will. How in the world will you do that, if you're in a coma? This is why it's very important to pay and have one drawn up, with your explicit wishes. A Living Will is ONLY good if you’re on life support.

A Living Will is WORTHLESS if you should ever come down with a terminal illness. That's when the government sticks its nose into your business. The law requires the hospital do everything possible to keep you as comfortable as possible until you die!

I also paid for my Last Will and Testament while I was at it. I believe in planning ahead for everything.

a good reason not to kill yourself...
death is worse.

I'm kind of wobbly on this issue, most suicidal people are mentally ill and need help...now what about a terminal patient, should they die at there own terms or suffer needlessly?

Re: a good reason not to kill yourself...

I can’t answer for them, but I can for myself. If I found myself terminally ill, I would most definitely bring my suffering to an end, and I’d do it quickly, while I still had my mental, and physical capacity intact to do it.

I refuse to spend ONE PENNY on drugs that will dope me up, and lessen the pain until inevitable comes to pass. I will have chosen to die in dignity.

Death isn’t so bad, it’s the agony your body experiences while your dying that’s bad.

ya I don't think I would want to stay alive if I was in a coma
but life is so short I really don't wont to miss any thing so I don't know what I would do? but your right about the government it should keep it self out of this

so when can we dance? lol :o) just had to say that.

I know he is, but God is an all forgiving and understanding God, and I know He would forgive my actions, were I to come down with an illness from which there would be no hope for survival.

Why do they make such a big deal out of trying to kill yourself. there are tons of quick and dirty ways to go. sleeping pills and muscle relaxer, sleeping pills and a full bath tub. Hell eating a bullet is quick too. The key is to making sure you can't go back on it.
Oct. 22nd, 2006 09:45 pm (UTC)
I have no idea why they find it such a big deal, when in reality, they could give a damn!

And yes, the idea is to do it right, so you won't end up being resuscitated and a total vegetable!

Of course, I would first have to have a terminal illness before I would ever do such a thing. :o)
