DON'T UNDERESTIMATE NORTH KOREA
Start taking the threat of North Korea more serious! Just because a dog growls at you every day doesn't mean it won't ever bite.
North Korea doesn't threaten war with China, their closes ally. North Korea is also allies with Russia and Iran. North Korea makes threats to South Korea, Japan and amazingly with the U.S. with the first two countries being in danger because of their proximity to North Korea. At this time, Norht Korea cannot bring a fight to U.S. soil because of their inadequate navy, air force and rocket technology. We just saw their failed attempt to launch a 3 stage rocket which if ever successful (they already have successful 2 stage rocket technology) will put them in a position where they could strike the entire U.S. mainland, thus putting them in a much more frightening position.
China and Russia drafted their own North Korean resolution because they did not agree with the tougher U.N. resolution. I remember reading that the Chinese/Russian resolution didn't even support a North Korean embargo. It's a very delicate situation for the U.S. because of the Norht Korean relationship with China and Russia.
Even if Norht Korea did not have China and Russia as allies, they are heavily fortified meaning that a conventional military operation would be quite ugly. In Iraq for instance, the U.S. had a huge advantage with air superiority where American aircraft were virtually untouchable. The North Koreans have a very extensive anti-aircraft defense system in place that would not allow the unrestricted penetration of aircraft as was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan.
At this time, North Korea has not yet tested a nuclear device (which they claim they already have), and they have not been successful with an ICBM. How much a bigger threat will they be if they ever have these technologies at their disposal?
I feel more than ever that North Korea poses a GRAVE threat to the U.S. and to the entire world, and I smell a mandatory draft MORE than ever.
