1st Lt. Ehren Watada
Refuses Orders to IRAQ
I find 1st Lt. Ehren Watada a man without honor and a coward for refusing to accept orders to go to Iraq with his Fort Lewis Stryker brigade. Not only should this commissioned officer go to jail, but he should be forced to pay back ever single penny he cost the Army to train him, house him and feed him, plus pay back every dollar he was paid for those three years he served in the armed forces.
He now says, "I concluded that the war is not only morally wrong but is in fact illegal." So why did he join in the first place? This guy was doing fine, but tells his commanding officers that he wants to resign when he finds out he will be deployed to Iraq. I'm sorry but a soldier just doesn't have an option but to go where he's ordered to go!
What a (Benedict Arnold) stab in the back to those soldiers of the past and those serving now, who have stood by their commitment to honor the oath of abiding to all COMMANDS given by the commander in chief.
When I joined the U.S. Army, I new exactly what I would be getting myself into. Nobody twisted my arm. I signed The OATH OF ENLISTMENT and raised my hand and I swore to do my part in defending my nation if need be for the next four years.
My dad served his country during the Vietnam War, and my brother will be deployed to Iraq by November of this year. Of course he doesn't want to go, but he knows that he took an oath to defend this country; he will most definitely honor it, as will so many others.
I have no other words to describe Lt. Ehren Watada, but as a yellow belly that has made a mockery of the oath he took to protect his country! This poor excuse of a man is nothing more than a COWARD and a TRAITOR! NOTHING will change my mind about the way I feel about this coward. This is Playgirl's FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION Live Journal, so express yourself. I may or may not comment.
