Day after Dad's Surgery

PLAYGIRL PLAYS HIDE AND SEEK

Yesterday, as well as last night was an exhausting day for me and Grandpa, but Dad's operation came out just fine.

I just do not know how we would have gotten him up the 4 stairs to the porch, and into the house, without the help of my Boss.

Although, Dad was in terrible pain, and couldn't move, he was famished, so I went to the store and bought cans of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup, crackers, bananas, and lots of Popsicles.

It was so very hard, pulling him out of the recliner to take him to the bathroom, but Grandpa and I somehow managed.

It was just about impossible to get him to bed, because I have a California style bed that's incredibly too high. I have to use steps to get to bed myself. What I did was put stacks of folded blankets and pillows, a few at a time, so Dad could get on the bed. It was horrible for him because even breathing, was painful. It took me and Grandpa something like half an hour to get him settled in the bed. I slept with him, to make sure he was fine. I had a hell of a time going to sleep, and was finally dosing off, when Dad needed to go to the bathroom! Oh my God! I went and woke Grandpa up, and it took us about another half hour to get him off the bed, and walk him to the bathroom, and another half hour to get him to bed again!!

When I woke up this morning, I was shocked to find him in the den, along with my little Jewely cuddled right next to him, watching TV!! That's how good he's starting to feel!

I just now made him some oatmeal and toast, because the doctor told me that would be the best thing for him to have for breakfast.

Grandpa and I will be giving him a shower in a little while, and changing the bandage. Dad says he wants to take his shower by himself. I told him that he would not. He shouldn't be embarrassed because I am the one who had to deal with everything, including attending to his catheter when he had his prostat operation a couple of years ago!!

I want to thank all of you who left prayers and well wishes for my Dad in my last post. You have no idea how much I love you so much for it!

Now, the next step is for him to attend that horrible ulcer that's causing him so much pain and suffering, and then my Dad will be good as new, and will be able to eat all my spicy, hot dishes!! :o)
