Back in May of last year, I shared with you that I had picked up a man right off the streets and brought him home to live with me. I would like to share with you what my life has been like ever since. I'm very happy that he has finally given me permission to create a web page, with pictures, about our lives together.

You will find two pages with many pictures. The first page contains pics of his bedroom and of all the things I've bought for him at the 2nd hand shop, including his clothing. I'm very upset with him because he refuses to wear them, and insists on wearing ugly rags, which he washes every day and puts back on each day.

The second page will show you numerous pictures (before and after) of my ONCE homeless man. Please let me caution you, that in just about every picture, you will find a little rag hanging from his pants, because he's continuously cleaning my house, bathing my my toy poodles, attending to all my other animals outside, and doing yard work. He never stops! I tell him to stop, but he refuses! He's even more stubborn than I am!

I had also revealed in my last LJ post that he had been wearing a catheter for many years, and was in critical need of an operation. I am pleased to share with you that he as recently had it and it was successful. You will read more details about everything that has to do with this man, who I've named Abuelito (Grandpa). He is my angel and I love him just as much as I do my poodles, Mickey and Jewely.

If you missed the entry I posted back
in May of last year, here it is:

I Pick Up A Man, Right Off the Streets

And here is the web page I've created with
pictures of this wonderful old man who so
abruptly came into my life:

Darlin', there is only one thing wrong with your post.

He is no long homeless because you have given him a home.
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:05 am (UTC)
And for as long as I'm alive, he'll never be homeless.

You've given your 'abuelito' the greatest gift (besides love, of course) that anyone can give--the respect that comes of treating each and every human being the way you'd want to be treated yourself. Such a simple thing, and yet most people find it so hard to do...

There's a special place in heaven for people like you!
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:14 am (UTC)
If only we could all treat each other, as we would want to be treated, what a wonderful world this would be. If only we could all accept each other, as we are, and spending more time and energy in trying to do just a little bit on our part, to help at least one person who, due to unavoidable circumstances, has found himself so helpless and in need of help.
Love you my friend!
Jan. 19th, 2006 12:13 am (UTC)
you are a wonderful person
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:16 am (UTC)
Thank you! He has made my life worth living!

awww .. I am so glad that you have brought joy to eachother!

it's the simple things :D

you are indeed a kind and compassionate human being :) and I still want that post on your friends adding policy! ;)

Thank you Sweety Pie!

In the near future, I want to post an entry on that very question you asked.

Wow! Have you ever opened up a can of worms, because it's something that's been on my mind for a long time. It has brought to my mind, the time I added some gal to my Flist and she wrote in my journal that she wanted me to take her off my friends list. She went on and on and on...about what her moral values were and made the big mistake of calling me a prostitute.

I am such a sweet person, but when somebody gets my goat, I become a vicious bitch! She lived to regret it and ended up shoving her LJ up her ass by deleting it!

By and by, I want to thank you for having accepting me as your LJ friend! I really and truly appreciate it!

What can I possibly say to you? You are an amazing and kind and loving and more amazing person. You have touched me sooooooooo much. Thank you for sharing this and sharing yourself. I am honored to be your friend. Hugs and more hugs.
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:37 am (UTC)
Yes, it is touching because I have seen before my eyes, a cocoon become a butterfly.

I always worked to have a comfortable place for my animals, but now I work much harder to make my angel's life safer and more comfortable. He has brought out the best in me.

Hugs my friend, and it is I who am so grateful that you accepted me as your friend!

in the past, you have posted content that had a punchline behind a link; i'm glad that this is real. perhaps not all humans suck after all.

i think i need to send you chocolate or something...

There are still many good people left on earth.

This man has his sad story; I just took the time to ask and listen. I honestly believe an angel had something to do with us both crossing paths.

He is one of the kindest men I've ever encountered. I know I'm blessed.
Jan. 19th, 2006 01:25 am (UTC)
To help him as you did, helps both you and him. To tell us how it has affected you helps all of us.
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:29 am (UTC)
Yes, we've helped each other. Before we met, were both afraid. We are not afraid anymore.
Jan. 19th, 2006 01:58 am (UTC)
:) You rock!
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:29 am (UTC)
Thank you! You do too!

Every so often God and nature come together to produce a truly remarkable product. Throughout recorded history there are mentions of some of these unique gifts. The scattering of diamonds upon the black velvet of the night sky, the delicate fragrance and astounding beauty of a perfect rose, the delight that the laughter of a small child has upon those who can hear, are just a few that quickly come to mind.

Now we must add another to that list, for there is a soul whose inside is just as rare and beautiful as her outside. The love and kindness that you give freely to all of Gods creatures large and small is not often seen upon this weary world.

Being able to call you friend, is truly a blessing for we are able to see the way life should be lived. You are truly a gift to us all.

Thank you Daddy, what you have written has actually brought tears to my eyes.

I have so many faults, but you accept me as I am, and for that I love you very much!

Yes, we both are very lucky, because in finding each other, our lifes have changed for the better.
Jan. 19th, 2006 03:10 am (UTC)
That's pretty awesome. It almost makes me want to be homeless so some hot woman who can cook and has her own adult porn site will pick me up and take me home... :::sigh:::

Those are the things dreams are made of.
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:41 am (UTC)
Oh, Conductor Choochoo Higgins, you are so wicked!
Hugs my friend!

You so rock, also!

Sorry I've been messing around with you!
No wonder you're frowning so.
You poor innocent baby.

I'm president of a large non-profit. I've given away time, work, and money since I was 16 years old.

Everything I've done in my whole life is nothing compared to what you've done. You're amazing. Bless your heart.

You have helped many; I've helped only one.
Bless YOU, you wonderful man!

What a gift you gave to him!

*now....how come we don't see pics of YOU anywhere?*
Jan. 19th, 2006 03:02 pm (UTC)
He has enriched my life so much more.

There are many pics of me, only because I have a business.
Otherwise, I don't like taking them.
Hugs my friend, and give that gal of yours a big bear hug for me!

Gracias amiga y muchos abrazos y besos!
Jan. 19th, 2006 05:05 pm (UTC)
The thing that impresses me is his obvious gentlemanly ways. Even at 70, I couldn't imagine myself sharing a house with such a lovely woman as yourself with a pure mind at least. It is also obvioius that he adores and worships you.

The thought that comes to mind is something my daughter, actually step daughter, often tells me. The old proverb goes that you can choose your friends but you can't choose your relatives. That isn't so. Often those who make a deliberate choice of being related to somebody, make better relatives than those of blood.

Warmest hugs to the both of you, and a kiss for you.
Jan. 20th, 2006 01:45 am (UTC)
What a great point you've brought out about choosing relatives. This gentle old soul has no family and I'm blessed that he's chosen me as the grand-daughter he never had.

Thank you for your very nice and wise comments, I appreciate them.
Big hugs and smooches going via air mail your way!

Jan. 19th, 2006 05:40 pm (UTC)
that was very very nice of you.
Jan. 20th, 2006 01:46 am (UTC)
Thank you, and he's been so very nice to me!
Jan. 19th, 2006 06:07 pm (UTC)
Wow! If only we all could display such kindness to each other. Very touching post.
Jan. 20th, 2006 01:49 am (UTC)
Yes, too bad we all can't get along. The world would be so much nicer if we would just mind our own business, accept each others faults, respect one another and show kindess to our fellow man!
Hugs Sweety Pie!
