I don't have phobias per se, but I do deal with post traumatic stress syndrome. . .so I guess my phobias would be memories . . .and there are a lot of things that find their way back to those memories in my mind. Bleh.

dogs are my phobia..i got bitten by a golden retriver...lol im always hanging out at my neighbors house wich they have a rottwiler and a chow chow..lol and i even have a poodle.. how funny..lol i learn to not always be afrais..lol

I get freaked out by the sight of blood. Not my blood. I could be drowning in my own blood and I'm fine. But other people's blood.... And this was before blood was classified as a potentially lethal biohazard.

And trains- more specifically, getting hit by trains. Which I think is connected to the blood thing. I think when I was a kid I saw the aftermath of someone getting hit by a train. My friend lived next to the tracks and I have a weird memory of that.

And finally, heights. Which is fucked-up, considering I spend a bit of time at my job up on ladders/etc.

After seeing what you saw, I can fully understand how you have a phobia of trains! I've noticed that phobias are created in us when we were kids.

I have felt euphoric by jumping out of airplanes, but have a little uneasy getting on top of a chair to get something that's out of reach.

Phobias are a mystery and God only knows what created them in certain people in the first place.

No phobias here. And very little bothers me, especially if I know it's there.

Blood happens, and I have seen lots of it, including my own.
Spiders bother a little, and heights can get to me.

It is a little a bit weird considering all the things that have happened to me in my past. Maybe I have faced them all down?

I'd have a hard time with scuba diving even though I desparately want to do it.

I believe movies have alot to do with phobias.
Ever since I watched Jaws, I promised myself to swim only in swimming pools.
Ever since I saw the movie PSYCHO, whenever I take a shower and wash my face, I rinsed my eyes IMMEDIATELY and take a quick peek behind the shower curtain.

I know what you mean about feelings of helplessness.

When I saw my mother dying, I felt so helpless because I couldn’t do anything to stop it.

A day after we buried her, I got a letter stating things that my mother had died because of neglect. I still feel so helpless because in the end, I cannot accept what happened to her and will wonder for the rest of my life if maybe I had just been aware (REALLY OPENED MY EYES) that they were neglecting her, she wouldn't of died.

Feelings of helplessness are terrible things to experience and it’s most traumatic when it deals with those we love.

The way a shrink explained my phobia was that something traumatic happened in my life as a child and the last thing I saw was *the thing I have a phobia of to this day* and just can't remember what the tramatic experience was when I saw the *thing*

I believe the same thing happened to you. You saw something that was too much to bare and you blocked it. Tornado's bring back that traumatic experience you had. Maybe if you and I could remember or unblock that traumatic thing that happened in our lives, we could be cured.

I also have horrible nightmares about the *thing* and wake up screaming.

I don't mention what exactly what my phobia is because I have a couple of enemies and how they would love to put a pic of the *thing* here for me to freak out.

I hope one day, you and I will be able to come to terms with our particular fear and be healed, once and for all!

I can jump out of an airplane, I can grab rats with my bare hands, etc., but this thing really takes me a hairline from insanity.

The only people who know what it is are the ones who have seen me in action, which totally freaked them out! I start gasping for air, my jaws lock up, my body starts going into convulsions and most embarressing of all, my bladder gives up! I'd wear a Pamper, but I just never know when I'll encounter this *THING* It's so bad that even accidently looking at pics of the *THING* causes the same reaction.
