New President Obama site

I just finished watching the Presidential Address to Congress. I've never doubted for one moment that President Obama would succeed in reforming health care.

I mentioned once before that before President Obama won the election, I had bought a domain with his name. I bought it because I was positive he would become our next President. I won’t even say how much the domain cost me, because you won’t believe me.

I never did anything with the domain name since I purchased it until recently. I have already created the site, but is still under construction, and will not be doing any writing myself on this site because of my writing skills which leave much to be desired.

This site will have a place where people can comment on ARTICLES people write, and a place where viewers can leave a comment on each article. I will also have an Obama forum connecting to the site.

Soon I’ll be placing the URL of the new President Obama site here.

What's wrong with your writing skills?

paper...
They are awful. My vocabulary is limited. I use an abundance of commas when I shouldn't. I have an over active imagination, and many, many thoughts and ideas to contribute, but find it impossible to put all the stuff in my head on paper correctly.

My lack of writing skills is one of my greatest frustrations in life!

From factcheck:

OBAMA: "I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits either now or in the future. Period."

THE FACTS: Though there's no final plan yet, the White House and congressional Democrats already have shown they're ready to skirt the no-new-deficits pledge.

House Democrats offered a bill that the Congressional Budget Office said would add $220 billion to the deficit over 10 years. But Democrats and Obama administration officials claimed the bill actually was deficit-neutral. They said they simply didn't have to count $245 billion of it — the cost of adjusting Medicare reimbursement rates so physicians don't face big annual pay cuts.

Their reasoning was that they already had decided to exempt this "doc fix" from congressional rules that require new programs to be paid for. In other words, it doesn't have to be paid for because they decided it doesn't have to be paid for.

The administration also said that since Obama already had included the doctor payment in his 10-year budget proposal, it didn't have to be counted again.

That aside, the long-term prognosis for costs of the health care legislation has not been good.

CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf had this to say in July: "We do not see the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount."

That fact sheet scares me to death. Then what are we all to do, just die from lack of health care because we won't be able to afford it?

What if, God forbid, you or I lose our job, and later find we have cancer? What are we to do? What are the millions who have lost their jobs to do, should the same happen to them?

Dave, this is all so depressing for me, because I know there are so many sick American adults, and children who will die because they don't have the money to pay for the astonomical montly payments.

Most people have health insurance. You, like a lot of people, are seeing things in a "black/white" mode, when really it is shades of gray.

Some people do not have health insurance. Not too many but most. For a long time, I was one of them. But, this proposal is not the solution. It will only hurt everyone in the long run.

A better solution would be to repeal the laws that keep insurance companies from spanning state boundaries. That is why you will see "Blue Cross and Blue shield of [insert state here]". BCBS is a nation-wide company, but by law it has to have wholly owned subsidiaries for each state that it provides health insurance in. It is also why most states have on insurance company that dominates the market.

Combine real competition with those health co-ops, and one might have viable health reform that won't bankrupt the nation.
