AGAIN: President Obama coins

1. I'm feeling much better after yesterday's little accident.

2. Again, for those who don't know that I have a 2nd new LJ, and would like to be added to it, let me know here.

3. I want to buy anything that has to do with President Obama. Why? You already know why! I adore the man! If you should see ANYTHING that's being sold with his picture, be it plates, dolls, whatever, P-L-E-A-S-E let me me know!! There is a doll of Obama being sold at the same place I purchased my Hit-Me-Bernie-Madoff doll. I'm waiting to receive it, and see if it's well made. If I find I like it, I'll buy the Obama doll. Sadly, Lipenwald Inc. who sold the Obama coins, has made me very suspicious when purchasing something from the web!

4. A few days ago, I made a post about the Obama coins I purchased sometime in October. When I finally received them a few days ago, I was pretty upset, because they were not what I was lead to believe they were in the TV commercial I saw.

I appreciate [info]deviantsaint for sharing this video with me.

Folks irked by Obama coins
Thank you [info]deviantsaint for the link.

After watching the video, I now find myself not only dissapointed, but angered, too. I trusted Lipenwald Inc. New England, not only by purchasing what they had to sell, but by also permitting them to fill out with the total amount of the purchase on one of my blank checks. This kind of business by this company only furthers the fear of purchasing stuff from the internet. I have bought many different items from the web, and have been thoroughly satisfied, not only by the product, but by itemizing each purchase, along with the exact amount I was to pay, and the speediness of delivery.

I just now looked at the receipt Lipen sent me with the coins I bought, and it doesn't state how much each item cost, nor the shipping charges. I would have liked to know why they withdrew from my banking account $74.60, when the amount should have been $9.95, plus $4.95 for shipping, because that's all I ordered.

This is EXACTLY what my statement shows. As you can see, it doesn't show how much each item cost me, or the amount for shipping.

These are the pics I posted in a prior post:

The pic of President Obama on the far left is my favorite.

Jeezus, girl. I didn't realize that happened yesterday! I'm glad you're feeling better.

About those coins, the first thing I would do is contact the bank and see if you can stop the payment or something. I don't know what the rules are concerning that kind of withdrawal payment, but I'm pretty sure charging a customer for more than the stated price is mail fraud.

Thank you Sweet Pie! Although, I'm still coughing a little, and my chest is sore, I'm doing much better!

I feel it's too late to do anything about it, because they cashed filled in, and cashed the check already. I've always purchased stuff using my credit card. This was the first, and it will be the last time I ever give them permition to fill in a blank check again! I'll just try to be more careful when purchasing from the internet.

I hate to imagine how many people were deceived as I was.

I failed to mention that on a few of the coins, they didn't even bother to paste the Obama sticky on correctly. They make it obvious at first glance, that they grabbed the sticky and just plaster it on shiny quarters.

I wouldn't have minded paying what they charged me, $74.60 for just ONE coin, but with Obama's face engraved on the actual quarter or half dollar.

Shady tactics such as this only gives a bad name to all those genuine sellers a bad.

Thank you for the link!

Ah, let the buyer beware. It appears that this dealer is not as nice as Mr Obama. Sue the bastards.

I honestly feel that those of us who purchased the coins, trusted them completely since they used the name U.S. Mint, and Montel Williams was promoting them on TV.

I only wonder if Williams knows how we were all ripped off by that company. And isn't it against the law to pretend to be the U.S. Mint?!

You might want to see if the ftc can help. That receipt is incomplete. I smell fraud. Are the coins even gold?

The coins are just shiny quarters and half dollars.

I'll just let it go this time. Whenever I buy something, I use the receipts for tax purposes. This company sure didn't provide it for me.

Oh man! How disappointing! I thought they at least had gold on 'em.

Are they selling the doll, and if so, how much is it? I couldn't find the info.

Caveat emptor, I'm afraid. We all buy poor-quality merchandise from time to time; you'll have to suck it up and take this as a lesson.

Not so much with the overcharging, I think. Check with your bank to see if there is any protection available.

Thank goodness it's only from time to time. I've bought stuff from the internet that I've been very satisfied with.

I've always used my credit card to buy stuff. This is the first I've ever given a check number and the name of my bank to a recording! Never again.

AS Dlanor said El Caveat Emptor, Let the buyer beware.

HAve yopu contacted the Atty General of Texas and filed a formal complaint? Hopefully someone will start a class action suit against the company.

Lets just pray the mint never puts his face on any US tender, I will not carry it for any reason. and Hopefully when people wake up and see he is just a puppet for Pelosi and Reid they will boot his ass out.

I am waiting to see how many more Military officers join in on the suit against him.

Oh... I requested to join your other group as well, and have heard nothing so far...
