Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos

Former agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos are being called "American heroes" at Capitol Hill!

P-L-E-A-S-E! Give me a break! There is NOTHING heroic about shooting a man in the back while he's running away! I could care less if the man who was shot was a marijuana smuggler, the fact remains, he was shot in the back.

Border Agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos got caught, and must pay the price for their cowardly act!

If these two guys had been pardoned, then it would have been an open field day for other law enforcers, or anyone else for that matter, to start shooting anyone in the back.

In the old west, when a man shot someone in the back, he hung from the tallest tree!

Im sorry little one, I respect your feelings but Ill have to disagree with you this time. I feel this whole episode was a travesty of justice. They were doing their duty, and now they report to prison, and the scumbag smuggeler is gonna sue the US government for millions. Something is wrong with this picture.

MYTH VS. REALITY--THE FACTS OF WHY THE GOVERNMENT PROSECUTED
AGENTS COMPEAN AND RAMOS
Myth: THE AGENTS WERE JUST DOING THEIR JOBS
Reality: Securing our nation’s borders can be a tough and dangerous job. Often, Border Patrol
agents find themselves in difficult and dangerous situations. We give them guns and allow them
to defend themselves. Border Patrol training allows for the use of deadly force when an agent
reasonably fears imminent bodily injury or death. An agent is not permitted to shoot an unarmed
suspect who is running away.
There was no credible evidence that the agents were in a life-threatening situation or that
Aldrete, the Mexican alien, had a weapon that would justify the use of deadly force. In fact,
Border Patrol Agent Juarez, who was at the scene, testified at trial that he did not draw his pistol
because he did not believe there was a threat. He also testified that Aldrete did not have a
weapon and was almost to Mexico when Agent Compean began firing at him.
In America, law enforcement officers do not get to shoot unarmed suspects who are running
away, lie about it to their supervisors and file official reports that are false. That is a crime and
prosecutors cannot look the other way.

LOL! No kidding. Kinda like a friend of mine who just posted about her sister (in her early 20's) sucker punching her disabled mom (late 50's) in the side of the face as she was turning away during an arguement. Luckily the mom had taken her pain meds and kicked the plain old fashioned shit out of the brat and as far as I am concerned the daughter had it SO comming.

You know that there is no bigger bleeding heart than me. I am a liberal in almost all of my views. But, I think these two agents are being railroaded into jail to save the face of the American government. You don't put a man in a job and give him a gun and not expect that he may one day have cause to use it. Come on Savanah you have guns and maybe one day you'll have to use one of them. The man who did the shooting had just found his partner beaten and bleeding so he had no idea what he was facing. His claim that the individual had a gun or that he thought he had a gun is reason enough to discharge his weapon to me. The job of patrolling our borders is tough enough but now they've made it a great deal more difficult. Were I a border guard I would insist on a non lethal weapon of some sort because I would no longer feel safe carrying or using the gun I was issued. Shooting someone in the back is not a good thing to do. But, we don't have any idea how the round ended up in the back of the victim. He may have been turning to flee when the agent's gun discharged yet before the agent realized the man was turning to run. I'm not defending what happened for I really don't know what happened. But, just like our troops our border gaurds deserve our backing and support. Oh and this stance really pains me. I would have never thought that I would ever take a stand that would have me agreeing with the likes of the "Minutemen". My opinion of that particular group of foolish vigilanties is that they should all be put in jail. The kind of reactionism that the Minutemen show is one of the reasons that the judicial system in that area reacted the way they did. The Minutemen cause people to paint the entire border situation with too broad a brush. It is just sad.

I think that our law enforcement in this country shoots to fast and for reasons that make no scents, and killing some one for having marijuana is a little much, and shooting them in the back is the work of a cowered. And every law enforcement agent well always says I had to I thought he had a gun Get real not every one runs around with a gun
And in my opinion there is always a better way to hand any situation then to shoot a gun in public and risk hurting someone that is an innocent by stander.

I'm repulsed by reading that these jerks have been hailed as American Heroes! What the hell is so heroic about shooting a person in the back?! To even compare these to with our American Heroes is blasphemy!

Sweety Pie, guns are entrusted to any form of law enforcement so they may themselves, not to go shooting people in the back!

There have been many Border Patrolmen who have shot and killed some very dangerous drug smugglers along the border because it was either their lives or the smugglers. The Border Patrol has every right to protect his life. These Border Patrolmen followed the rules by reporting the facts, without hiding anything, to their superiors.

The difference here is that the lives of these two agents weren’t in any danger what-so-ever. The sleaze bag was running away from them!

The FACTS were presented to the jury in a court of law, and they found them guilty.

Don't get me wrong, I love all our Border Patrolmen, but not these two, because they behaved like gangsters!

And you're right when you state that things aren't always as they appear. This case just proved that after much investigation by those who are qualified, found the "things that aren’t always as they appear" just didn't jive with what the two fibbing agents described.

The law is the law for ALL of us. We break it and we must pay.

Whenever I read of someone shooting a person in the back, the first WORD that comes to my mind is COWARD!

So when some dirtbag breaks into your house and then turns his back...you won't shoot??

PUHLEEZE....

It goes like this.
"HALT..or I'll shoot"
Footsteps...
BANG.
Halt means halt....

Shoot him if he turns his back on me, and walks away? Nah, I won't shoot.

This is the way it goes for me:

I say HALT...or I'll shoot!
Intruder continues to take footsteps toward me.
I now SHOOT!

I have been hearing about those two turds on a few shows. I have no idea what the use of force rules are for border agents. I know what they are for NC Corrections officers. A fleeing felon trying to escape, shoot. Anybody else fleeing, we can't shoot. I imagine the rules of force are the same for them.

I am shocked at how many are trying to free them!

These two assholes shot a man in the back. Why can't people see this? I despise those who cross drugs into this country, but I despise even more, men who shoot people in the back!
