Jimmy Swaggart, "remember, the toes you step on today, may
be attached to the ass you will have to kiss tomorrow."

Jimmy Swaggart
Give Me That Old Time Religion!

I have many gay friends, and will not put up with anyone speaking ill of them!

When I was 17 years old, I had no where to stay, and they gave me food and shelter. They proved to be TRUE friends with kind hearts, and this is all that matters to me. We are ALL sinners in one form or another, and we will ALL answer to God someday.

I found these two videos that literally turned my stomach. How can this self-righteous man of the cloth, who professes to represent the teachings of Jesus Christ, relish so, by inspire such forces of violence, such hatred toward other human beings to his congregation, and how could his congregation justify that sort of behavior? Isn't a preacher supposed to be the mouthpiece of God?

We are ALL sinners,
(James 2:10 "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet (A) stumbles in one point, he has become (B)guilty of all.") and should remember this verse in the Bible when we feel we must start pointing fingers of shame, shame at other people: John 8:7 "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

This pathetic, insensitive man has obviously not read this verse, while almost busting a gut, as he spews derogatory name calling, in his obnoxious, brash voice to his congregation:

"Let all things be done decently and in order." 1 Corinthians 14:40

Hey, before you start pointing finger of shame, shame at me, I know I'm a sinner, but I've never proclaimed myself to be a nun, as Jimmy Swaggar proclaimed to be a monk, once upon a time! Jimmy Swaggart obviously never read this verse from the New Testament, either:

Matthew 7: 1-5 "Don't judge, and then you won't be judged. For others will treat you as you treat them. And why worry about a speck in the eye of your brother when you have a board in your own? Should you say, 'Friend, let me help you get out that speck from your eye,' when you can't even see because of the board in your own? Hypocrite! First get rid of the board. Then you can see to help your brother."

When this callous and hypocritical poor excuse of a man is finally exposed, NOT once, but TWICE, he changes his tune quickly, and gives pitiful cries for mercy!

Sure looks to me like this charlatan
is the ONE WHO IS the TRUE A BOMB NATION!
Here you will FIND Swaggart looking SUDDENLY haggard! I wonder why.

There is a webcomic that I read, and recently they did a series where the main characters "bring it on" to a group of protesters against gay weddings.

http://suicideforhire.comicgenesis.com/d/20060705.html
That link goes to the first part of the series, and the storyline follows thru the next 10 real entries (there is one entry where the creator apologizes because of a family emergency).

I invite you to read it, and come to your own conclusions in regards to the hypocrisy that many preach under the cover of "faith".

Sorry you just did a pet peave of mine(realizes the irony of PET peave coming from me). People using the bible to try and prove a factual point when the bible is all how you interperit it. So ..sooooooooo many metaphors. That's why no one knows the true meaning of the bible. They have good educated guesses but no hard facts because something religious cannot possibly used as factual evidence.

I apoplogize for making a reply to your comment, as I am not the owner of this journal, but I feel you may have read her post from an incorrect point of view.

I believe she was pointing out how that individual would use his position to point out the wrongs of others (and filling his own pockets by doing so), while committing acts that were at odds with what he said.

I made a reply to this post that led to a webcomic. At the end of the series one of the main characters made a statement that I feel rang true, and wish that many religious leaders would follow in their preachings.

"...and perhaps try to practice the same care and understanding for others as The Christ...in whose name you commit these atrocities, no less...end your self-serving double-standard-driven ways, act like a people of love and forgiveness, and live and let live."

and swaggart was wrong about another thing (surprise surprise). if the consititution defines marriage as an institution between a man and a woman then why has bush been threatening to change the constitution to keep gays from marrying?

enough to make me barf!
These religious fanatics are the ones I often speak of, because they are the ones who scare the living shit out of me. They instigate hatred and violence toward those they find BENEATH them.

This disgusting man is prime example why one should never judge a book by its cover. Here he bashes homosexuals, while all along he gets his sexual willies from prostitutes. Mind you, I'm not judging anyone who prefers to do their thing with prostitutes; to each his own, and it's really nobody’s business, but this man, a PREACHER, and a MARRIED man, who snubs his nose at those who are NOT his kind, is the epitome of evil. Men like these do more harm to Christianity than the devil himself.

To hear this man say that he would kill a man, who looked at him in that certain way, is an abomination, because he is a preacher! To see him go through his melodramatics while screaming his derogatory statements, with such glee, is enough to make me barf!

I am so glad that he was finally caught doing what he was, because now this once self proclaimed SAINT, has finally been exposed for what he truly is!

One of my best friends in highschool was gay. One of the most caring guys I ever met. He taught me the difference between whats gay, and whats being comfortable with your sexuality.

Before meeting him, I wouldn't hug any of my guy friends.. cause it aint 'manly', ya know? But now I dont hesitate to give him a hug. Or when a hetero guy friend of mine is going through a rough time.

I really don't care about what homosexuals do and don't do. I am the most non-religious person out there, so it has nothing to do with what the bible says. But just as a human being, I recognize that they are still human beings, and deserve to be treated as such, with the equal rights as any other man or woman.

Its kind of a shame some people can be so brainwashed.

Not even the Angels
What a wonderful world this would be, if everyone else felt as you and I do, and it makes me very happy that you've had the opportunity to see first hand, what wonderful people gays are.

It doesn't matter to me what anybody does in their bedroom, because it's none of my business, and it shouldn't be anybody else’s. Gays are human-beings, just like you and I, and they are Americans who contribute greatly to society, and should have the right to marry whomever they wish. It is not for us to judge, because I know for a fact that everyone continues to sin in some way.

Not even the Angels of the Lord have been given the power or the right to judge humanity; much less any of us, who are mere mortals. Each and every one of us will someday meet our maker, and He is the one we must give an account of what exactly we did on earth.

Give your friend a great big hug for me, and accept a great big one from me to you, Sweety Pie!

Swaggart and all thosen of his ilk are hipocrits. They prey on the poor and give nothing back except their brand of religious hype.

I can not remember any of them ever opening up a soup kitchen or helping feed the poor in any way.

Jim and Tanmmy Bakker were two of the worst. They opened a theme park in the upstate here and sold time shares to the rich and then cheated them out of those.

The worst part is that there have been more deaths in wars in the name of a "god" than for any other reason. Seems its still happening in the name of "Allah" Even in the 21st Century. You think man would have learned but as was said long ago, "those who forget the lessons of the past are doomed to relive them"

Speak about FAMILY VALUES! How pathetically funny!
How could they possibly feed the poor, when they were living like royalty? I once read that televangelist Jim Bakker and his wife Tammy Faye became so filthy rich, that they even had a gigantic air conditioned doghouse for their pets!

This guy Bakker also committed adultery. Speak about FAMILY VALUES! How pathetically funny!

I believe they are the worst of the worst of sinners, because they possessed the biblical KNOWLEDGE from the very beginning.

Even I, a mere sinning mortal, realize that the Manna that came forth from the sky and the water Moses brought from Mt. Sinai, when he tapped it with his cane, came from God. Moses forgot that it was God that produced food and water for those who traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land.

These present day assholes who lead the flock, somehow forget that they are only the shepherds and not GOD.

Moses paid dearly. His punishment was to never see the Promised Land.

Sorry, but Jerry Falwell turn my stomach, also!

He doesn't even know how to pronounce 'abomination'.

And I must correct him about God calling it an abomination. Neither God nor Jesus say a damn thing about it, unless you take Jesus' off-the-cuff remark about a gambling den that also housed a whorehouse, if I remember correctly. God isn't quoted up or down about saying anything about it. Period.

The quote about it being an abomination actually comes from the gospel(1st four books of the New Testament), Matthew if I remember correctly, though someone correct me if I am wrong. I remember some of the phrasing, but not the exact book.

I'm gonna kill him and tell God he died
The book in the New Testament you speak of is Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13.

There are oodles of ways to sin. Not only did he make millions upon millions of dollars, but also committed adultery, which is a mortal sin, and furthermore, he said "I'm gonna kill him and tell God he died!" If this is Christianity, then please let me off the train right now!

How dare he say gays need salvation
God! You know, people like this Swaggart heathen, revolt my stomach to the max!

How dare he say gays need salvation, while all along he was committing adultery! Sure, he was fooling his congregation, but not for too long, because he was eventually exposed for what he truly was.

The stupid man for got that what he was doing, was very much visible to God! These are the type of people I dislike intensely, because they judge people ruthlessly. I'd much rather dwell among murderers and thieves, because at least they don't hide what they are, than to dwell among these religious goody two shoes, who only expose their good side, while hiding the treachery that is in they're hearts.

OMG I actually have that issue of Penthouse. Because I am a pervert of the decades.

I think anyone in the religion business, but especially the televangelists, are all just a buncha delusional carnival hucksters, really. They're not doing it for god, but for their own peace of mind and the cash they rake in by doing it. Every one of 'em is a hypocrite, but they wail for forgiveness each time they're caught. That's what makes all of the self-styled flavors of christianity so hilarious. You fuck up in the name of god (or really just give in to human nature - Satanism in the Anton LaVey definition) and you just say "I'm sorry! I'll never take advantage sexually of kids again! I was weak!" and you're off the hook. At least for the moment.

Jimmy's gonna roast in hell. I'll confirm that when I meet him there. ;)

Well, you better save that Penthouse magazine, because I'm sure it will be worth a fortune someday, not because of the sexy girls pictures, but because of the picture of Swaggart crying like a baby, 'cause he was caught doing naughty things!

Guys like this have really hurt many people who truly believed in them. The only thing that matters to them is to line their pockets with money that many have giving, who really had so little.

I know for a fact that you will not be going to hell, because you admit that you are less than perfect, and it's obvious that you have a kind heart that wishes not harm to anybody, and that's what God wants!

I am prefectly fine with people choosing to believe what they like regarding religion, however, no one should ever assume that they they know The Truth just because their particular book/religion/pastor/church says it is so. We human being are far too flawed to ever figure it all out on our own.
